Is this Hilton? really?
We came for 9 nights. We're on the honors floor which makes me wonder what happens in non-hhnors rooms. the hotel is quite empty... first, when arrived we saw a crane outside. today some works, drilling started. THERE WAS NO NOTIFICATION that there are some works going on. The rooms (we moved one) are not soundproof. every car in the street, every train that goes by, and of course their horns sound like they're 1 meter away. the problem for the light sleepers. no refrigerator in the room we were advised to let the hotel know if we need room service during XMAS day. naturally, we thought the service will resume after. it didn't happen we were told that we should have asked for it. dah. the next day we asked for it. the services for the very minimum cleaning without replenishing or changing sheets. Should I shorten my stay and look for alternatives? happy holidays
Covid Immaculate
Interesting property. The actually physical plant is probably 60 years old but has been immaculately renovated and maintained over the years. In the 80's it was where most members of the legislature stayed when in session and a hotbed of political deal making, not to mention unofficial partying. Today more of a business hotel. A good desk and excellent desk chair, a comfortable guest chair and immaculately clean. Beds in my room were great. There is plenty of staff, all masked and a willingness to help as needed. (I forgot a comb and the staff had one to me in minutes). The location on Hillsborough Street is convenient to everything in town is a plus. The price is right. A good clean deal.
Horrible
First walked in to a lobby that smelled like there was a gas leak. Got to our room and tried to open the sliding door. It was broken and would not open. Called the front desk and maintenance came up. After quite a struggle he finally got the door open but it would not close and we had to leave it open all night. When I went to hang my clothes in the closet I noticed there were 2 full size opened liquor bottles left on the floor, When getting into bed we noticed there was no mattress cover on the bed which was disgusting and we slept on top using a blanket that we had in the car. At check out I informed the woman at the front desk of all these issues. she apologized even mentioned how disgusting she thought it was. She said she would have the manager cal me and even confirmed my phone number. I NEVER received a call and would NEVER stay there again and would NEVER recommend.
It was a great stay. Down side was restaurant service
We stay here this past weekend 03/06/2020. The room was in a good condition, service was great. Unfortunately when going to have breakfast, hostess was not friendly at all, server either. She did not came to check on us or offer more coffee. Next day we were there again for breakfast and same thing. Same hostess, same attitude. I order and she was not nice at all. I was really bother. Other than that hotel location, cleaning stuff and front desk personal were great.
Incredible Customer Service
After a very nice stay in Raleigh, I realized the next day that I left my watch in my room. I was already out of town and called the hotel immediately. I was blown away at how quickly the staff worked to not only find my watch, but help me get in the mail and back to me. Many thanks to this wonderful staff for their above and beyond customer service. My loyalty to Hilton will continue for many years!
