Fab location and parking, avoid the breakfast buffet

This hotel probably has the best parking in all of Rameshwaram. Just a five minute walk to the temple’s North Gate (where the ritual bathing starts), it has a massive gated car park. Ideal if you have a large car that cannot squeeze into tiny spaces. Location is very central but also peaceful and quiet. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable with comfortable beds (although the pillows were tired). The restaurant food was decent and the service good. But oh Lord the breakfast buffet was horrifying from a hygiene standpoint. The buffet comes with tongs but they’re not very visible so everyone was grabbing the food with their (dubiously clean) hands. Most people were touching 4-5 puris/idlis before making their choice. Really put me off my food. Finally we ordered masala dosas for extra charge as at least that came straight from the kitchen. If they don’t make tongs visible and put up a sign asking people to use them, I’d say avoid the breakfast buffet at all costs. So to summarise, great location, fab parking, great rooms, but avoid the breakfast buffet.

Best stay at Rameswaram

After searching through, we settled on staying at Hotel Ashoka during our stay at Rameswaram. It was comfortable and clean. Ramanathaswamy Temple is walkable from this hotel. The hotel has all the modern facilities and ample car parking. It has an in house veg restaurant that serves good food. We had our meals at this restaurant itself. Breakfast was complimentary. The room was spacious and had good furniture. Soap, dental kit, coconut oil and two bottles of water was provided. All in all, this property was the best in the area.

Excellent Location near the temple and beach

Hotel Ashoka is located just 5 minutes walk from Ramnathswamy temple and the beach. Rooms were clean and big with all facilities. Staff and service was also good. Food was average. It is within the city still peaceful. They have ample parking space. You get value for money .

Hotel Ashoka food is very good, we were group of 30 people, we had a very good North Indian and South Indian food. Specially Paneer Sabji is good. I recommend this hotel for food in Rameshwaram. Thanks

Located at a walking distance of 5min from Rameshwaram temple, this is a nice property with clean, well furnished rooms and a pleasant staff. The in-house restaurant serves good food. There is ample gated parking.
