Termas de San Joaquin
The rooms, restaurant, and pool are average at best, but the hot springs and the star tour at night were so wonderful that makes the experience worth coming back to. I wouldn't recommend this for families, but if you and your partner are in need of some relaxing time this place offers a great escape from the busy world.
Great service and great place to spend some time with your partner
We drove from San Antonio to this place and the drive itself was a journey that ended with us at this awesome place in the middle of the desert. A true gem, the place was very well taken care of and the rooms were awesome. The pools were great and all that we expected but most of all the personal and employees were very friendly and helpful especially the manger Ever, he helped and accommodated us completely. My wife and I went for our 19th anniversary and wife's 50th birthday. It was awesome and plan on going back for another weekend in the near future.
This is not a 4 star hotel, 3 tops
The place is nice, close to Monterrey but far enough from the city so you feel in the wild, it feels like a very nice little town 3 stars hotel but the price is higher for the benefits and amenities you get, they even tell you they don't use to give hand towels or dsce towels for the bathroom sink! We're having a great time here, food is good, but they lack attention to the detail in everything... It's clean, beds are comfortable and all is pretty if you love rustic decoration style, I loved it! The thermal waters area is very nice and pretty too, but they lack personnel to keep the order and the observance of the place rules like not be loud, no kids under 12 in there, no music, alcohol or cigarettes, it's a place to relax and enjoy the benefits of the waters, not a McDonald's or a bar! Also I never saw medical personnel either ready for any emergency at the Termas. The astronomic nights are great, Pablo is a true scholar and makes everything very interesting and entertaining while educating you in all the science! Definitely never pay for the buffet except for the breakfast ones, the others are not worth it better to order a la, carte, it's much better!
ATTENTION - there are two different ways/entrances to access the thermal pools
Hey! we went there last weekend! it was really nice, i enjoyed it a lot. it is a good escape from the city, peaceful, quiet, warm and relaxing. Though, what we didn't know: There are two different thermal pool areas, which are almost the same, both about the same size!! one are has the one big pool - and the other area has two medium size ones and three super small ones. the difference is the price though - The first are comes with access to the hotel area, and a meal and costs 600 pesos. The other one is access to the big pool (only) and costs only 200 pesos!!! Other then the size of the pool everything is almost the some (bathing area, entrance and so on...). This would have been the better deal for us. But no one told us and we didn't know befor. Also, the receptionist who was happy to sell us 600 pesos ticktes didn't mention the other option and entrance! You should know befor you go there, to make an informed choice what suits you better. Travel save!
Too loud
Nice thermal waters, bad service, too noisy. We asked the front desk to send someone to quiet the area. No one ever came to quiet the noisy people so requested a refund unsuccessfully. Left with a headache!
