Four points out of 5
My night here was ok. Nothing special. Property looks better on the outside, room was a bit outdated... yet clean and cozy. Staff was absolutely wonderful and helpful. Loved the large atrium/entrance, and the Route 66 sign by hotel is a nice touch. Check out was effortless. Again, front desk was helpful and attentive.
Horrible customer service - Do not waste your time and money on the Four Points by Sheraton Rancho Cucamonga.
Do not waste your time and money on the Four Points by Sheraton Rancho Cucamonga. As a long time Starwood member, I rely on the Starwood network of hotels for reliable customer service, cleanliness, and convenience. When looking for a hotel in Rancho Cucamonga for a couple of friends and I to stay for a wedding celebration, I quickly booked two rooms using points at the Four Points because of the Starwood service I know and love. One day prior to check-in, I had a family emergency and was going to be unable to attend the event, but the rest of my friends were still attending. I called the Four Points to confirm my reservation, two rooms, and add my friend's names to the reservation. I was told that the two rooms were reserved and the reservation had been switched to a friend's name, no issue. When my friends arrived at check-in, they were only able to access one room because, as it turns out, the employee had only switched one room my friend's name. While dealing with a family emergency, I spent my time on the phone with the Four Points staff trying to get the second room switched. I was again told that this would be done easily without issue. The next morning while my friends were asleep they were awoken by a group of guests entering their room, the hotel staff had issued a key to their room to new guests. They spent their morning "proving" to these guests that this was in fact their room. Upon check-out, my friends were told that one of their rooms had actually been cancelled in the middle of the day and they would be charged full price for their stay, despite my months in advance reservation using full points and day prior confirmation of two rooms. After hearing about this, I immediately called the assistant manager, Brian Gonzalez, to clarify. I had not cancelled the room and had confirmed two rooms prior to check-in. According to Brian, Marriott had cancelled my room when they saw a name change on the reservation and to keep the reservation, I would have had to call Marriott and transfer my points to my friend's account. I was NEVER told this when I asked to change the name on the reservation, and Brian freely admitted that his staff made an exception without notifying me, knowing that this would likely cause Marriott to cancel my reservation. Brian admitted that his staff had made a mistake with my reservation and should have followed the protocol to change the reservation directly through Marriott. No action was taken to rectify this mistake by Brian or any hotel staff, and we were still charged for the room. After spending hours dealing with this and no resolution, I will definitely NOT be staying at this location ever again. I expect more from a Starwood hotel and am deeply disappointed by this situation. I will reconsider staying at a Starwood hotel in the future, this poor customer service is absolutely unacceptable. If you are considering staying at this location, look elsewhere.
VERY CONVENIENT "ROUTE 66" CLOSE TO SHOPPING AND FREEWAYS
Very friendly staff. Comfortable "Sheraton" bedding. Average size room. The restaurant downstairs off the lobby for breakfast is good. Nice selection of juices eggs, bacon and sausages, pastries and bread or order from their menu. The pool is back of the hotel into the parking lot. And they have cookies w/ coffee complimentary.
Avoid at all costs
Evening manager is rude. 2nd night told us couldn't eat outside food at bar, even though we purchased cocktails. She repeated over and over it was policy, but couldn't provide where policy was posted. 3rd evening our AC overheated and smelled like burning hair. We reported to guest services and left for our conference. Came back in evening, we were told all was well. 2 hours after coming into room AC overheated. We were moved 1 flight up, keys didnt work. Got new keys, the AC in this room sounded like a semi truck in 2nd gear. Asked for another room, sent back to original floor. So far, all looks well except for food stains on the ceilings. (We're hoping that its food and not body fluid).
Not the typical quality of a Four Points property.
I stayed here for three nights on business. The property is clean and well maintained in the common areas. Staff were very friendly and helpful. My disappointment was in my room 306. The pull out couch was busted (must have been for some time) and dirty. The carpeting has stains near the refrigerator. To be fair, I didn't tell them until I checked out. The manager apologized profusely and said that the rooms are being remodeled early next year. I told her they just needed to spot clean the carpeting and throw out the couch. No other chairs were in the room so sitting on the bed to watch TV was the only option. The Manager was very kind and even comped me my breakfast on my last day. This is a beautiful property but someone on staff should have reported the busted (and dirty) couch and have it replaced. This one is ready for the trash heap, it can't be fixed). This will not stop me from staying at this property, but I will speak up much sooner.
