Overnight stay
Excellent facility and accommodation. Room was clean & quiet. Staff was professional and helpful. Great for our one night stay. We appreciated the refrigerator and microwave in our room. We appreciated the fact that the facility was limited to 50% occupancy due to COVID.
Microtel Hotel in Raton, NM
Microtel Hotel in Raton, NM, stayed one night while photographing Maxwell National Wildlife Refuge down the road. Clean facility, due to COVID, no breakfast, staff very on top of things, but the place could definitively be improved. Internet is really bad, you can connect, but no surfing. Needs an upgrade.
Dog friendly and clean
We stayed at this hotel before and loved it so we stay here on our way to Arizona. Dog friendly and it’s clean and cute. We had a kitchenette and could have easily had a meal here. Love that you can shut the lights off with the switch by your bed. Thoughtful amenities. Would highly recommend.
Disappointed
We've used this motel as our stopover on our way to northern Colorado for several years. It's always been well maintained, clean, and operated by friendly people. This year, our bathroom was a disaster. The sink's stopper wasn't working. The bathtub didn't drain and even had dirty water coming up from the drain. I tried to use the hair dryer and the plug had been rendered useless. When I mentioned this to the front desk clerk at checkout, there was no acknowledgement or apology. She didn't make a note. I guess we'll have to find a more reliable place to stop in Raton our next trip.
Decent place for an overnight stop
We stayed here overnight on a road trip. It's a nice hotel which served our needs. It's right off the highway and is dog friendly. They couldn't do breakfast because of Covid restrictions. It was neat and clean. There is a McDonald's right next door and a Sonic across the street. The area itself is a little sketchy but we had no problems.
