This is a lovely pub that is located in idyllic country side a little bit off the beaten track There is plenty to do with immediate facility including golf walking fishing and rambling We were made most welcome by Angela and her team and we had room number nine which was very nice and cosy The food was delicious and there was a good selection of beers wines and spirits The hotel was lovely and warm the staff were delightful We will certainly be returning in the spring

I have dined at both the establishments in Ravenstonedale so thought I'd give this place to try. I have never been so disappointed in all my life. For the price of the food I was expecting much much more. I have never had to send back my food but the Steak in Ale Pie I got today was so inedible it had to go back. The pastry was so thick and tough I could barely chew it, the steak was rock hard and the rest wasn't much better. I can honestly say that I've never had a worse pub dinner in all my life. What made it worse is that I suggested this place for my sister who has just moved to the area. I felt embarrassed by the poor show of the fat lamb. Definitely off the list.
Strange but lovely

Visited here for my birthday. Traditional country pub inside. The menu was completely random compared to the pub itself but the food was really good! The food came out very quickly and drinks were taken often. They even do the totting up manually!
Foul smelling bathroom

Hotel is situated in lovely settings. Nothing within walking distance but it’s no big issue. Food was lovely and Staff friendly. The rooms let the place down. The bathroom was full of mould and room stunk of stagnant water. We run the shower to try and help with smell. In the end I went to bar for air freshener. We resorted to leaving the fan on all night to help with the smell. We checked out a day early which was a shame. I just couldn’t use the bathroom. The toilet brush was full of human excrement. I new the smell from the bathroom was down to poor cleanliness. When we left nobody even bothered to ask us how are stay was. I just wanted to get home I wasn’t bothered we had paid for 2 nights. Sort the rooms out as the place really can be goldmine
Relaxing days away from home.

Great place to relax and unwind. Staff are really friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much for them. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The menu is varied and caters for most tastes. This is our third visit and always come away happy. Will definitely be visiting again.
