The Hotel Arnarhvoll was an upgrade option through the travel company. I'm so glad I invested the little extra to stay here. The location was perfect to restaurants, the City Center, tour pick up and drop off and Covid testing site. The staff was incredibly helpful and nice. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

Great location with fabulous views. Rooms very basic. Bed lined not nice. No wardrobe and very little space. Breakfast good but restaurant not open at night. Covid excuse. Reception staff helpful. Bathroom smells dreadful due to water used.
Good location, great sea view

I was very happy with the location of the hotel and extremely happy with the sea view. The staff were very friendly and the lady on reception (can't remember her name) who recommended we change our northern lights cruise by a day and then sorted it all out for us, did us a massive favour. We had a spectacular view of the northern lights thanks to her. Rooms were tidy and clean however some drawers and storage space would have been useful. We ended up having to drape our heavy coats etc over the back of chairs and the desk. It was disappointing not to have the use of a restaurant in the hotel, there were 2 occasions, one lunch and one dinner, where we really wanted to eat without having to venture out into the city. An on site restaurant would have been very convenient especially as the literature we received about our stay promised a 15% discount in the SKY restaurant. But overall, we were very happy with the hotel, with Reykjavik and with our short holiday overall

Every member of staff in the hotel went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. It is positioned near to the waters edge and not too far from the harbour but also with easy access to the shops and restaurants. A bus stop outside seems to be a pick up point for most tours so you can easily access the trips off. The breakfast is one of the best hotel breakfasts' I have ever had with a waffle machine to make fresh waffles, fruit, hot food etc, sets you up well for the day. The rooms are small but well equipped with under floor heating so also cosy.
