Stayed for 5 nights. Upgraded to a panoramic suite which was lucky but think due to booking early. Lovely clean hotel. Had breakfast one day which was plentiful and tasty. Free parking at the back where there was always space. 40min walk into town or 5min drive, 10min bus ride. Plenty of bus routes near by. Minor issues with safe which never worked nor tv but as most of our time outside hotel, was fine. Bed was excellent as was shower. Plenty of wardrobe space too.
Room was very clean and nice and the staff were excellent

We chose the Hotel Island (I found out it's pronounced just like the word Iceland) as part of our package tour. It was a very nice hotel. Very clean. The staff were so helpful and friendly at all times and were were the typical travelers asking a lot of questions and they exceeded expectations. The rooms were of very nice size and could spread out our clothes for the next day(s) and not hinder our beds.... I had stayed in another hotel closer to town in the past and it was a quarter the size for much more money. The only downside is that it is about 1.5 miles from town which can be a lot to walk, but we took taxis whenever we wanted to break from walking. So, in the end it was well worth it.
Okay hotel…really rude staff

The hotel is just okay. The location is quite far out. The good - Breakfast was good, there wasn’t a great choice but it was good what we did eat. The housekeeping were brilliant and cleaned our room to a high standard Hotel room we stayed in was huge The bad - The staff are incredibly rude and unhelpful. At breakfast the staff were rude, but the worst were at reception. I booked two trips through the hotel and when the bus came the guy told us he was not here for us. I asked the receptionist after waiting a further 40 minutes where our transfer was, she proceeded to tell us the bus had left without us and advised paying for a taxi to go, despite paying extra to be picked up. We ended up missing the trip. The receptionist told me ‘it’s nothing to do with me’ errrrr it is love I booked through the hotel. I am still fighting to get our money back. The location is very far out and the ‘shopping street’ just looks like 100 expensive ikeas. I wouldn’t return to this hotel nor Iceland actually.

The hotel was quiet at night, a massive plus in our view. The staff were friendly and seems to enjoy interacting with their guests. We used the gym and massage facilities and ate there and the food was very good. When we return to Iceland we’d stay again.
Great budget friendly hotel with an excellent concierge

This was a great little hotel. It's not fancy and is about a 30 to 40 min walk from the city center. However, Patricia, the concierge made it all worth while. She went above and beyond booking a horseback tour when we first arrived. I had tried unsuccessfully to book on my own, but none were available at the last minute. She made the vacation because she got us the horse ride for the next day including transfers! It's a nice little hotel if you don't mind being a bit further from the city. Rooms were clean and quiet.
