Going downhill

Reviewed 4 january, 2022

I've stayed here dozens of times, and I still love the restaurants La Strada and Roxys, but the hotel is going downhill. I don't know if its the pandemic, the merger with Caesars, or a combination of both, but here I sit at midnight on a Tuesday and all I want is a soda and I can't get it. Tried machines on three different floors...no luck. Thanks to some management idiot, it is third party vending, so you're out of luck when the machines are out. Oh...and there's no room service. None! There's got to be 15 restaurants spread across 3 hotels, but do you think one would be open for late night delivery midweek? Only if you thought The Row was maintaining standards set by a Motel 6 with working vending machines. But they're not. It's a shame. I remember not too long ago you could get real room service 24/7. Like steak and eggs, or a bagel w/lox, or a sandwich or burger. Now they can't even be bothered to keep a soda machine stocked. The nice girl at the front desk did tell me I could go down 20 floors, walk over to the Silver Legacy, then walk across the street to the convenience store if I wanted. Helpful, eh? Nice room, but the amenities are sh yte. Thanks for nothing with my room.

Don't book a room here!! Could not cancel a reservation because my flight was delayed in the air due to high wind and I could not use my phone because I was in the air till after midnight on the day of the reservation. The manager would not refund and was extremely rude and hung up on me because I said "this is the way you treat your customers" she referred to this as "verbal abuse"

Casino is lacking a nice ambiance and and tesla chargers are awful

Reviewed 20 november, 2021

This Casino is in a bad part of Reno, and it seems like it has lost its charm. Then you try to charge you're Tesla and can't because some jackasses are blocking the chargers. Not worth the drive up there anymore.

Nice room, but not much to do.

Reviewed 7 november, 2021

We came to Reno for a competition at Silver Legacy, but stayed at the Eldorado. The room was very comfortable. There are two bottles of water and Starbucks K-cup coffee available. I loved the refrigerator available in the room. We had a beautiful view of the mountain too. The WiFi connects using your email address and is mediocre since it goes in and out. The housekeeping service is nice and accommodating. The shower water was very hot, which was nice, but the tub drain was clogged and drained slowly. I’ve only been to Vegas, so I was disappointed to find out that the Row does not have many video poker machines. It’s a slot players place mostly. The ceilings are low and very smoky, don’t think they have great air filters. The play wasn’t great and it was annoying g that when you redeem your tickets, they don’t dispense coins, you need to see the cashier to redeem coins. They don’t have many slot machines or table games. It’s a small casino overall, even though the silver legacy and circus circus are connected. I liked that all three were so close, but there wasn’t much to do. The shuttle bus to the airport is not where the sign is. You need to cross the street and stand by the self parking lot entrance. They should put a sign so people know that. Overall, the stay was just ok.

La Strada in El Dorado

Excellent restaurant. Food was well prepared and authentic. Menu contains a nice variety without being overwhelming. Keith, our waiter, was attentive, knowledgeable and recommended excellent wine pairings for both dinner and dessert. Definitely one we will return to on our next trip out.
