A lake, good food and a comfortable room and beautiful landscapes with lots of possibilities to wander and ramble or cycle or go riding. And the prices are fair prices, what more can you desire. Given the enormous booking fee's (up to 25%) that the various web sites demand of the hotel owners, it is only fair to book direct and not via one of those overpowering global hotel / travel websites.
Delightful sojourn near Frankfurt

This is a lovely way to experience Germany in a quiet location in a charming family-run hotel. The restaurant is excellent with regional specialties and wines and a charming terrace. The rooms are comfortable and the peace of the natural setting is remarkable.
Lovely, family friendly place in green Spessart

Gut Duernhof is a lovely, very family friendly place in the heart of Germany's Spessart forest, a beautiful region much overlooked by international tourists. The hotel is in an old Gut (estate), overlooking a large pond and lush forests. The atmosphere is friendly, rustic Bavarian/Franconian. Breakfast and dinner are very good. While this is no 5 star hotel, facilities include a nice pool and spa as well as outdoor activity (horseback riding, biking, Football, hiking). The rooms are spacious and clean. Staff and owners are very friendly and helpful. Pricing is fair and you can purchase a few local gems at the hotel, like Bavarian dark rum and local jam. In summary, there's not much more one can ask for....
Perfect place in southern Germany

Can not be more satisfied, quiet place, nice "old style" rooms and a wonderfull restaurant. Even a pool with a good capacity. Price was decent, quality does not come cheap. Good place for trips to the surrounding bigger cities. The town Gemünden is also good for restaurants with the local touch. A thing that could be improved : Parking is across the road, in the open, but not bad.
Lovely hotel with views of wildlife

We had a spacious and comfortable room, with balcony overlooking the lake and countryside beyond. We sat on the balcony in the evening watching a beaver in the lake and a kingfisher and birds of prey flying above it. Lovely breakfast. Sunday night the restaurant doesn't open but the staff recommended and booked us a table at "Zum Löwen", a short walk away in the village, which was excellent. We only stayed for a one night stopover but would like to return to this hotel to explore the area further.
