Good hotel - well located close to a mall and a number of restaurants - good and efficient service. Rooms are very comfortable and showers are great. Breakfast and evening but are a great options and the menu is also good, if a bit limited.
Nice Hotel But Awful Management
I just finished a two night stay at this hotel. This is my honest and unedited review at the time of leaving. If you’re thinking about staying at this hotel, this is my unbiased review of the Class Hotel in Rio Caro. Pros: -The location is pretty good. Its within walking distance to many places and is also close to a Dominos Pizza (if you’re into that) -The water pressure and temperature was pretty good. Cons: It started in my room. I arrived on Christmas eve at around 2am (having just come from the airport) and immediately was disappointed. While the room is nice and new, it has numerous problems. Firstly, my bed sheets were full of hair (likely from a previous guest). As if this wasn't bad enough, our sink and bathroom were full of the same hair. It’s as if the cleaning staff just made the bed and didn’t clean or replace anything. Our toilet was leaking some water out of the back which caused some of our clothes to get wet and the overall experience was a mess. On the 25th at night, we smell cigarette smoke on our floor. It turns out that a guest was smoking in his room and nothing was done to stop it. (keep in mind this is a non-smoking hotel floor). We complained about it and the nice lady at the front desk said they would ask the guest to stop. The next morning, the same smell was back. Again, there were people smoking in the hotel. The best was squeaky and flimsy, if you moved at all, it felt like the bed would collapse. Now, onto the next problem. We called the hotel and said that we needed a room for two night and MIGHT need a third night but we weren’t sure yet. The guy who we spoke to told us to book and reserve a three night stay and if we were going to stay the third night we could just cancel. So we booked three hotel rooms for three nights each. After the first night, Our plans changed and we weren't going to be using two of the rooms for the third night. We told the people (a day in advance) and they told us that we could check out, but we’d have to fill out a form to get a refund and they they would review it and decide whether we would get a 30% or 50% refund. They also said that the whole process could take over a month. Now, I’ve traveled around the world and stayed in a lot of hotels in my life, and NEVER has a hotel had a policy like that. Most hotels get that sometimes plans change and it's better to have a happy customer that would stay there again (we have family in the area) than hold a little over $100USD for themselves. There are some other small cons that are as follows: -Each room only has one key. When we asked for another room key, the staff said that “more were ordered but we still haven’t gotten them yet” -A staff member told me that sometimes the keys get randomly deactivated for the safety of the guests. This happened to us twice in two days. (imagine getting to a room at 2am only to find you have to go all the way back to the front desk to re-activate your key) -The beds were squeaky -There is no safe in the room -You can't drive up to the door of the hotel to drop off your luggage because of how tight and poorly positioned the walls are. Overall, this hotel seems like it could have good potential, but for now, due to (probably) horrible management, I would not stay here again nor would I recommend anyone to stay here. NOTE: This is a completely un-biased review. I have nothing against the hotel. But if you’re looking at hotel options in Rio Claro, I would not recommend this hotel.
Great place for a short or extended stay...
A nice hotel tucked into a neighborhood of Rio Claro but not far from main streets. I stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the complimentary breakfast in the full service restaurant. The rooms are clean and well kept with excellent wifi. A very nice business hotel with helpful personnel. Unfortunately I do not speak Portuguese but there was always someone on duty that understood enough English and/or tolerated by English to Portuguese dictionary efforts. Neighborhood and room were both quite quiet...I would definitely stay again.
A hidden gem
I had to visit Rio Claro for work. Booking was easy through Trip Advisor, service was great and they made every effort to help despite the lack of English speaking staff. The rooms are modern and clean. Surrounded by buildings with tall gates and streets of questionable safety, this hotel is an oasis. If you have to come to Rio Claro, this is where you want to stay.
Fairly new modern hotel in Rio Claro Rooms are quite small but reasonably well finished and there is a pool (sort of) and gym There is a restaurant- the food is ok - not spectacular. Overall it isn't a bad hotel by any means, just not spectacular.
