Amazing place, amazing people!!!!
I arrived in Casa Dois Irmaos late at night (a pick-up from the airport was organized upfront). The large room was gorgeous and the view even better. Every morning I was waking up with the sunrise in my window above the city of Rio, with its bay and the sugar loft in front of me. Chris and Josephine are two loving people who became not only my hosts but also my friends by the end of my 4-day stay. In the morning they served delicious breakfast with fresh fruits and homebaked bread, and in the evening I was welcomed with some caipirinha and a great company. Casa Dois Irmaos is the best place to start your day in Rio de Janeiro and I would recommend this hidden jewel to any of my friends who will consider to visit this beautiful city.
Like Staying with Friends
A friend and I spent 4 days here during Carnaval, and loved it. It is situated in the hills of Santa Teresa, with spectacular views of Rio and the bay. It's a small place with only a handful of rooms, so it's like staying in someone's house. Fortunately, the proprietors Jo and Kris are awesome, and great guides to the city. Staying in Santa Teresa is much more interesting, in my opinion, than in the more well-known beach areas. And it's a short ride into town when you do want to go into the more urban area. In short, I highly recommend!
The view as everyone has mentioned is incredible. Josephine and Kris were natural hosts and provided not only delicious food, but great advice on the city and lovely company. The house was artistic, clean and cozy. We were both wishing we had more time here!
Meet The People
My wife and I recently spent 4 days with Josephine and Kris. Yes, the view is marvelous. Better yet, we met and had long conversations with many people from all over the world. Our room had a lovely view and the neighborhood (Santa Teresa) was alive with art, music and food. We were "in" Brazil, not just looking at Brazil. Highly recommended.
Great view! Delicious food!
Had a wonderful evening with friends there. The view from the terrace is awesome! Especially at sunset and night. Jo cooks more than great in her open kitchen - and you have to try one of her cocktails at the bar on terrace :)
