Good location with helpful staff
Nothing very fancy in this hotel, but good for a traveller that likes mid priced accommodation in this city. It is within easy walking distance of the beach, restaurants and shops. Rooms are air conditioned, clean and comfortable. Turn down the air conditioner to low and wear earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Also if noise bothers you, get a room on the upper levels of the hotel.
Lovely Staff
We stayed at Copa Sul at the beginning of our time in Brazil and found the staff and quality and range of the breakfast exceptional - a special mention for Marcia, who treated our family of six with great care and attention. The facilities were decent - no problem at all with the a/c as other reviewers seemed to have. We did have to keep refilling the loo cistern to get it to flush - hopefully the hotel could get that sorted as a bit irritating! Overall, a nice start to our holiday.
Great location
Located one block from Copacabana beach and a short walk to Ipanema beach. The room is spacious, light and nicely decorated. Breakfast was really good. However, the internet is terrible! We could rarely get it in our room.
Good hotel, large rooms but can be noisy
I stayed here recently for 3 nights. The rooms are large, but will be noisy if facing the road, and the air conditioning is noisy. The hotel is in a very good location for Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. There's a good range of breakfast options.
Good location. Decent breakfast. Terrible Air conditioning. wifi extremely week.
If you really wish to be confortable after spending the day visiting Rio under hot and humid weather, stay away. This is not a hotel with a good a/c system. They have window units that simply do not do the job of keeping the rooms cool enough when the outside temperature is close to 85F. Wifi is practically non existant.
