Las Cuevas Xpiral-
From the minute that we walked in, Oscar and Elmer gave us exceptional service. From the beginning to the end; we have 4 young children and they waited patiently, explained the menu and shared about what we should do/explore given the young children we have. The food was amazing and they had their share of recommendations. If you visit this restaurant make sure to ask for the duo, Elmer and Oscar, their personality, and hospitality make you feel right at home. The customer service at XCARET is top notch and both of them went above and beyond to help us during our stay. Mil Gracias Elmer and Oscar 😉
Las Cuevas Xpiral- Oscar and Elmer
Wow the service was beyond amazing and honestly a great experience- this is Xcaret. They welcome you into their home and this homey restaurant was like dining in our home. Oscar and Elmer were truly impressive, kind and very welcoming to our big group. The food was amazing, the restaurant was as lovely as the hotel. The staff were the difference maker, Oscar and Elmer gave us great food recommendations. Thank you Oscar and Elmer for welcoming us to your kitchen!
Best trip experience ever!!
Xcaret is hands down the best authentic Mexican experience!!! We absolutely love the fun excursions, XEI HA and XPLOR were our favorite parks but the hotel is incredible and a park in itself. So much to do, see and explore right at home. The food is so YUMMY!! The service is immaculate, so clean and the employees made our visit that much better! Rosy helped us with every question we had, so friendly and gave us a tour of the hotel and extra views we didn’t know about. We had so much fun and will definitely be coming back 🥰🥰🥰thank you Rosy and Xcaret!
LOVED ELMER!
Everyone was fantastic and we absolutely fell in love with xcaret. Elmer made it more fun with his jokes and kindness explaining little things to us and helping us. The atmosphere is spectacular! Also Sergio was helpful and attentive. Thanks so much XCARET! ☺️
Great place, but not for toddlers and need improvement in communication/concierge
I would first like to start with all of the positives. The property is absolutely amazing. I mean completely stunning. The staff and the service was next to none, from the pools and bars to the restaurants and housekeeping. The food was great, the service was great, and my boys loved exploring the property (going on "adventures"). We have a 3 and 6 year old. Young kids: Some of our frustrations came from having a 3 1/2 year that wasn't able to do much. All of the parks seem great, but they are for ages 5+. They do have a kids club, but only for ages 4+ (plus adults aren't allowed in so we couldn't even go in to do the activities with him). They do have a kids pool with a waters slide, but the water was too deep for him (life jackets available but he refused to wear that . . . typical 3 year old). There really isn't a great pool for smaller kids. We inquired about childcare so we could have a break and you can hire a babysitter for $15 per hour (not bad), but then you have to buy a $100 day pass if you want the babysitter to leave the room. But again, there wouldn't be anything the babysitter could do with him except chase him around the property (not even the babysitter is allowed in the kids club). Restaurants: There are several restaurants and we had great meals. However, I was frustrated to find out that all the restaurants that require reservations were completely booked for the entire week the day we arrived!! We were told to just show up and see if we could get in. We did that, and were turned away each time. As for the "Teatro" which has the dinner and the show, the only way to see the show is if you have dinner reservations! Luckily on our last night we were able to at least sit to see the show (no dinner). Concierge: The people at the concierge were nice, but the system is broken. The communication was poor, we were told conflicting things about the COVID testing, about transportation to the airport, they couldn't help me get a tee time to go golfing (did that on my own), and did a poor job of explaining what was even available at this massive property. They told us certain parks (like Xenses) were good for little kids, but that turned out to only be partially true. I had to go back multiple times to ask about various things and got different answers. One thing that really frustrated me was the COVID test. I was told to show up 2 days before our flight to get the test. When I arrived they asked me if I had a reservation. Huh? I was never told about that. We ended up waiting in line for over an hour on a beautiful day (with a restless 3 and 6 year old) to get the test. It was extremely painful. In summary, I do think this is a great place. We were just frustrated to find out about things too late that really affected our stay and ability to enjoy things. If you have a mobile child under the age of 4, I do not recommend coming here. We will probably try to come back in 3-4 years when the boys are a bit older and can do more activities (and now that we know more about the property).
