Good Rate and a Good Stay
No, this place is not one of the best I have stayed at but for a good price we had a nice stay. Rooms were clean and all in all we had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was your normal danish or toast with a few sandwiches that you could microwave.
Nice renovated rooms but outside is sadly ignored
We booked this QI because it took pets and was near the Great America Rails-Trails Nickel Plate Trail that we were biking. It sits right next to a Walmart off the interstate so is at a convenient location. Also next to it is a Super8 owned by the same group. But when you drive up to the Quality Inn, it appears to be in bad shape. It was unmowed and there was trash everywhere. The cigarette butts were piled high on the top of the trash can. The "pool" area (no longer a pool, now filled with concrete) had chairs and tables willy nilly around the concrete. This is also where they put their ladder and riding lawn mower. In fact, we took 5 minutes to put the tables and chairs in order which made the place look so much better. The hallways inside are low and dark. Not very appetizing as you walk to your room. But the rooms appear to be recently renovated and pretty clean. So once in your room, it feels a lot safer. I think if someone took the day to clean up the grounds, do some landscaping, and put brighter lights in the hallways, it would make a world of difference. The day staff were pretty good and helpful. The evening and night staff were useless. They just watched TV in the dining area and visited with friends who dropped in. Summary--a little TLC and staff upgrades would go a long way to improve this property.

Best in the area but the options are limited. Breakfast is pretty good. Rooms have always been clean. Staff has always been more than helpful with any needs. If you're in the area this is the best option around.
Best Quality Inn I've stayed in
My expectations were not very high for a Quality Inn since I typically stay in a Holiday Inn or Hampton Inn hotel. Usually quality is a bit lower but I felt very comfortable here and thought they had some great amenities. My room was a king suite with a kitchenette area and dining room table. The desk was nice and the desk chair was fabulous - new raised up (not broken like many hotel desk chairs are). The bed was comfortable and nice bedding. The staff friendly! A couple of things to improve in my mind. 1) the big jet tub (no longer working) should be removed. It's was difficult to get into (over 2' wall) and the shower head should be replaced - such a small stream of water, I got cold because it doesn't cover your whole body. 2) have tea bags in the room, not just coffee and put coffee cup lids in rooms, 3) The TV is poor quality - shifts from clear to poor picture, 4) this is a Pepsi hotel, so if you like Coke, bring your own. 5) breakfast was less than great - same scrambled (powered) eggs with sausages for the three mornings I was there). But still it was a nice hotel. I'd stay again.
Previously The Comfort Inn
The hotel has undergone a refurb since I last visited and the rooms are a great deal fresher and cleaner. The only drawback is the breakfast - Having stayed for a few days the 'same-old' breakfast (scrambled egg, sausages and pancakes), became a bit monotonous.
