As a regular client of Ibis in France we have become accustomed to the refurbishment programme over the last few years so was surprised that the programme doesn't appear to have reached Rodez, The room was a little 'tired' and the shower was an extension of the bath taps, so standing in the bath to shower was dangerous as there was no anti-slip provision. Although described as Rodez Centre, the hotel is sited at the bottom of very steep incline with the centre, housing all the sites, sights and restaurants, at the top. Definitely not for those with reduced mobility.

The hotel is a Comfortable stay which has a large double bed and ensure bathroom. The amenities on offer and very good for a short stay business trip for people in the area. It’s a short walk to the main square with the restaurants and bars.

We were booked into another hotel that let us down at short notice, thankfully these guys came to the rescue! Not only did they have a room, they were also able to send us a taxi to pick us up from the other hotel.

The usual excellent service from Ibis but also excellent renovation, revised layout and decor. The location has a 'villagey' atmosphere with a variety restaurants etc. close by - plus situated on the road from the main centre to the railway station with the advantage that it is outside the parking meter zone. Ideally placed if you are planning a visit to the new Musee Soulages and the gastronomic experience a Cafe Bras next-door to it. We had a room at the back overlooking the square which made for a peaceful night before the abundant self-service breakfast. Just one criticism: would it be possible to have slightly stronger plastic mugs in the bathroom that do split if carelessly handled?

Just what I needed. Calm. A good mattress. Local food available. And a fantastic local beer too ;-) The room could have been a little larget, but OK. Walking distance to city center. Just a little far from the train station.
