They out you in a dingy room when you book through third party sites

We stayed at this hotel before and had a great experience. However, our last stay left us offended and degraded. We planned a special celebration for our anniversary and booked the hotel for October, 2022. We invited our friends and had a total of six bookings that night. After the check-in, we realized we were in the hotel's old, yet to remodel section. I expected to stay in the renovated room, just like several times in the past. Instead, our room was old and dark, with unvacuumed corners, scuff marks on the walls, ants, falling-off vents, and terrible lighting in the bathroom. We asked the front desk to move us to another room, but they refused because the hotel was fully booked. We asked if they could swap our reservation with another guest, but the front desk refused to change the room assignments. We begged to stay with the rest of our group, placed in the hotel's remodeled section. We explained that we had stayed on the renovated floor before, and the room did not meet our expectations this time. The management refused to change rooms even when we explained that we had a special occasion. Then the truth came out. When we inquired why we were placed in the old room, the clerk said, "You did not book through us." This phrase was repeated to us in the further conversation three more times. You deserve less if you book through Orbitz, Expedia, Tripadvisor, etc., as we did. I couldn't believe that the hotel placed us in a room that should not have been rented out due to its condition as a punishment because we booked through a third party. I had never experienced such unfairness from hotel staff before, and our special night was ruined.

This is an OLD hotel. One of the elevators was not working & the other sounded like it was going to die any second. Throughout the hotel, carpeting was stained & torn, wallpaper was coming off the walls. The bed sagged in the middle. The fridge sounded like we were sharing the room with Darth Vader. This what not the quality that I expect from IHG.

Very Well Managed Property!! I have been visiting the Chicago area for years, and this was my first time staying in the Rolling Meadows area. I like to be close to O'Hare without the extra expense of staying at the Airport Hotels. In the last few years, I've stayed mostly in the Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, and Itasca areas. When I arrived, I was kindly reminded of the COVID measures they have in place and had to go back to my car to get a mask. After a few days in Indiana, I forgot about this. The Lobby was well lit, modern and clean. I checked in and got my room key and went to my room. The rooms are large spacious and clean, which is always a good sign. There was a nice gap of space between the desk/tv/bench area which gave the room a larger feel. I was able to dump my belongings right on the long bench along the wall. The bed was large and comfortable and had two nightstands with USB and electrical outlets for all my gadgets. The desk in the room was large enough for me to work comfortably with a good sturdy chair to match it. The television was easy enough to operate but I soon grew bored of all the channels and turned it off since I couldn't find a hockey game. The bathroom was what you would expect at a newer Holiday Inn Express. It was large, bright and clean and had most of the amenities you would expect. The Fitness Center had enough equipment for a good workout. There were three cardio machines, free weights and some accessories. I was able to get in a good workout. In the morning I made my way downstairs to the breakfast area and had a very good breakfast with the typical free hot and cold breakfast items. The serving area and the eating area were both very clean and organized. I liked that they had a few healthy options. There was an Egg White and Veggie omelette available. This was awesome after eating at the Weber Grill the night before. Check-out was seamless and quick, and my bill was emailed and available through the IHG app. All in all a pleasant stay in a clean, bright well managed IHG property.

The stay at holiday in express at Schaumburg was a wonderful experience. The rooms are clean and the stay was hassle free. The manager Christina was very helpful and went beyond responsibility to ensure maximum comfort is available to the guest and the stay experience is one of a kind.

Best choice at the Central Location of Greater CHICAGO.

This Hotel is located at one of the best location equally close to all cornors of Greater CHICAGO for reasonable price, for clean building, friendly staff & perfect breakfast! And they have a place to do laundry as well which is great especially when you’re always on the road! A lot of restaurants in the area to chose from. Great choice during any season.
