More about the hotel
Tiny room but good price
The room was very small , if you are a couple you will struggle to place your suitcase , and the bathroom even smaller . The breakfast is very basic , But for the price a reasonable stay and friendly reception
Very Nice Hotel
We stayed 5 nights on Hotel 939.We went to Termini and took a taxi to the hotel, from Termini we could easily have taken the Metro to Piazza Espagna. We had a rater big room with a good bed and a refrigerator. A nice bathroom with shower and toilet, lots of clean towels every day, the room was cleaned every day. There was a lift. We got a warm welcome and all the time everyone from the staff helped and answered on questions. We took breakfast there and got all we could need, 5 £ pr pers. A very helpfull woman gave advice, there was toast, fresh fruit, good coffee, cheese sausage and so on.cosy, too. We walked by foot where ever we wanted to go, we took every meal outdoor in the sun It was a nice trip, and we already want to go to Rome and live in the nice hotel! We recomment the hotel!
Not that good
We stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is well located, like 10 minutes walk to St. Peter Cathedral. The hotel is on the second flor of a building it’s a small hotel with a small rooms. At least mine. The furniture in the room looks old and in bad condition. Mattress old, bathroom very small an not that clean tv remote control didn’t work, we thought it was the battery, we went to the front desk and asked for a new batteries but still didn’t work. The guys on the front desk very friendly and helpful. This hotel could use an overhaul.
Disappointed
1)Toilet ran non-stop unless you get tired of listening to it and pushed the flush button part way in (very irritating) 2)door casing on bathroom door was split and they used scotch tape to hold it together 3) showerhead doesn’t stay connected to bracket (keeps dropping to the floor) 4) toilet seat was broke 5) ants on bathroom floor and table under mirror in room 6) remote didn’t work, had to get new batteries 7)no rug for outside shower, had to use towel 8) ON THE PLUS SIDE, the guys at the desk were extremely helpful and curtious.
Good value, good location and with caracter
Good location and convenient, less than ten minutes walk to the Spanish steps and Pizza Navona, also just over 10 mins to the Vatican. The Spanish Steps Metro Station was convenient. Despite other reviews, we found it quiet, lots of tiny streets, with enough of a foot fall from other pedestrians, never felt unsafe. Not a lot surrounding the hotel, a few trendy interior design shops, but loads of places to eat in and around Plazza Nav and on the lead up to Spanish Steps. Also lots of shop and boutiques on the build up to the later, as well larger stores along Via Corso, that cuts across only 5 mins walk away. The Hotel is in an apartment building, buzz to be let in, you then need to walk up two levels or take the tiny three man lift. No reception or lobby as such, but the small breakfast room has a sofa and vending machine. It’s a very small hotel, on one level. All the four reception staff and cleaners we met, where very friendly and helpful with both advice and service. Rooms an adequate size, with working a/c and TV, not much storage space, but enough for a weekend stay. One room had a shower the other a bath. One overlooked a side road (a little bit of noise on Saturday night, but not a big issue), the other an inner courtyard. Both were clean. As it was a low price our expectations were not high, but we were pleasantly surprised at what a nice little hotel it was and were very happy with our choice. A few minor points that could be improved... 1) The corner bath (room 203) had at one point water jets, this looked rather tired, with a few broken jets and broken controls. There was a hand held shower on a flex, so required a one hand wash, an annoyance. A wall mounted bracket would have been a simple fix. 2) Each room had a safe, but they were small and reasonably light weight, the significant issue was that there were not fixed into the furniture and could be lifted out with one hand, so rather redundant I felt as a place to leave valuables . 3) One room shared a balcony with the adjacent room. Each day after the cleaning (thorough) of the room, the staff door left wide open the balcony doors to air the room. A nice idea but we felt uncomfortable with this, we took our valuable out with us for the day. 4) Breakfast was only just adequate, our kids complained, about the lack of choice. For the price, us adults felt it was OK All in all very pleased with the experience and would stay again to keep costs low and recommend it others also on a budget. Not perfect but acceptable and a nice place of character in a good location.
