More about the hotel
Good location
Central location close to steps and fountain. Some lovely little restaurants just down the road and options all within short walking distance. Convenience store next door. Reception assisted with recommendations and directions. Room and breakfast was very basic.
A very good location, great staff
My daughter and I stayed at the Anglo Americano for three nights. The hotel is located very close to the Spanish stairs (3 minutes walk) and to the Hard Rock caffe (7 minutes walk). When 🚕 is needed, you walk one minute down the street and to the right just to find a taxi station. A pharmacy and a nice pizza & bar, are down the block, so the location is very good. The staff were all very friendly, kind, helpful and professional. They’ve helped us with special taxis, maps, explanations regarding places to go, they also replaced immediately our too-hard mattress with a softer one, so the staff is great! The room, although was very clean, was basically designed, plus had a very bad internet service. The breakfast was also basic. All and all, this is a nice hotel for 3 stars, while rated 4. The VFM is fine.
Hotel - disappointing stay
This hotel is well placed and within walking distance to the most popular sites. Our experience however was not good at all. On arrival the booking in went smoothly however as the lift was not available to get our luggage to our floor it had to be carried up between myself and a willing porter. There were no bath towels the first night and so had to make do with hand towels. We found that our bar fridge was not working and reported that to reception and it took a second visit to reception a day later before it was replaced with another one for some other room. We also had no telephone in the room and reported that as well and that to took a while to bring us one with a faulty cable. We were not impressed with the bedding and the room seemed to need a coat of paint due to scuff marks on the walls Having paid a cordial visit to reception I did question if this was a 4 star hotel as advertised The breakfast which was available was well presented and featured a variety of both hot & cold eats
Alright, but nothing special.
A very average hotel, hot water didn't work all the time, neither did the Wi-Fi. Breakfast was okay, but very simple and limited to basic breads/cakes. You get what you pay for I guess. Staff were nice, but very Italian (if that's a thing). Very close to Piazza Barberini and thus, Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. No view to speak of really.
Good Breakfast, Good Location
A quick walk to the Spanish Steps and the Trevi fountain. The room was very good and very quiet. The front desk were not particularly friendly. It was more expensive than I would have expected for the facilities. We stayed because our Friends wanted to stay here. I wouldnt stay here again, nothing wrong in particular but it didnt have a great atmosphere.
