On eventually arriving at our hotel We were greeted with broken plant pots at the front door rubbish outside and a very unkempt appearance. Given a room on the 1st floor 2 broken safes in wardrobe stench coming from bathroom over-flowing shower when used. No coffee making facilities or mini bar as advertised by Expedia. No bar also advertised. Next day given better room but only marginally. But then stench in this bathroom began to appear again. Breakfast very basic. Staff were friendly and accommodating, then they had to be as the hotel has so many faults. Beds were clean bathroom to a fashion not what you would expect in 4 star rating. The Companies advertising this Hotel as four star with the said facilities have not been checking obviously. Good Luck.🙄

Very clean, bedroom and shower a little dated, hotel was quiet, breakfast was Continental.Central location beside railway station and bus terminal. Overall good value. Local Restaurants had good food and reasonably priced.

Firstly, I cannot fault the hospitality demonstrated at front of house. The chap in the breakfast room wasn’t particularly friendly and I dare not upset his display of continental breakfast items for fear of getting told off again. Honestly, the hotel isn’t a 4 star; it’s more towards a 3 and it really wants a bit of tlc, paint and repairs. My room was adequate and perfectly serviceable and the bed comfortable enough along with good housekeeping every day. The bar area and sitting room is a nice touch and great for a rest after a busy day. There is a lift for access to all floors but there are a dozen or so steps to negotiate up to the main entrance out front so not good for less abled folk. As for it’s location, it’s ideally suited near to the Termini and in a central position with most attractions within walking distance. Yes, I’d happily stay here again but don’t expect 4* luxury.
dated and a bit sad

If the name 'Champagne Palace' and the description of 'Baroque-style' decor on the site are not enough to put you off, then my review should be. It is the second time I've tried out the 'Champagne' group in Rome and each is as dated as the other. My room on the 4th floor had a clearly dirty carpet, with sand and hair, black mould in the shower and an airconditioning system that on the lowspeed sounded like a helicopter hovering over the bed. At least the bed linen and towels were clean! I would like to be able to say that the one redeeming feature was the roof terrace, but this is enclosed in somewhat dirty glass windows and the flower pots were empty. Not a piece of fresh fruit in sight at breakfast! The one redeeming feature turned out to be an excellent little trattoria nearby called Trattoria Monti, which is highly recommended!
