How did they get those extra two stars?
We stayed here for a few days in late September 2019. We were looking for a more traditional looking place, were the rooms looked 'Italian' instead of this generic global modern look it seems you find anywhere in the word. This hotel was in a great location but the room was cramped and the bathroom even more. To use the toilet one needed to have disposable legs. It was hot when we arrived and the ac just wasn't strong enough. Breakfast was at best mediocre. Coffee pretty bad. I would not stay here again.
Location:5, hotel:2 breakfast: criminal
Choose it due it's location close to the city. Worked out, Forum Romanum ist very close. Hotel is cheap on all dimensions. Worn out , old furniture, unmaintained. No WiFi. The killer is the staff starting to noise on the corridor at six in the morning. Additionally the entrance door closes with a loud rifle style bang. And it closes often . The breakfast is served in the hotel next door and I have only one word for it: disgusting. One type of industry cheese, one type of industry ham. They store the week portion outside the frige (I call this dangerous and criminal)! Coffee machine without milk, their big barista Machine was dirty, too. All table dirty as the waiters prefer to chat rather than cleaning. In Germany they would have closed this restaurant already. Just book the room, sleep and enjoy the low price. Stay faaaar away from their breakfast offer.
Great Location, Close to Train Station and Most Tourist Spots..Thats the only plus point
Terrible Breakfast, they do not cater to your dietary needs, uncooperative staff that don't understand language very good. Location was great, that is the only plus point. The room did not have coffee or tea maker, for half of the stay. We had to repeatedly ask for it, to which we got the answer we have more rooms and less equipment, therefore they do not have it for everyone. Our toilet bowl flush was broken and they pretty much said why didn't we say it before 3pm and the incident happened after 3 pm and they cannot do anything about it. The buffet is served need door not in the same building. Rooms are old and small, and lastly. reception is closed after certain hours, so no one is available for you. I have been to far better 3 start hotel. Definitely not a 3 star... VERY RUDE STAFF. I would not recommend anyone to stay here.
Average at best
Took my two boys, 9 and 4 for a midweek break in Rome, Rome is amazing but this hotel is pretty awful, but they was expected as it’s cheap. However the WiFi is none existent so if you’re planning to do any work here, forget about it. They clean the room everyday but it’s extremely old and worn. Wallpaper broken, plug sockets broken, lamps broken, shower tiles etc. But my kids loves staying here, saying it felt like an old haunted house. I backpacked North Africa 15 years ago and stayed in nicer hostels than this, so be aware of that if you’re looking for something nice. The location is great though, five minute walk from Termini, Santa Maria Maggiore is next door, lots of restaurants and shops around so all in all it’s an ok hotel.
This place has bed bugs!
We booked Montreal Hotel for 2 nights before taking a 9-day cruise. First thing we noticed was that the pictures on their web site look much better than when you arrive and look around. Somehow, they’ve incorporated a beautification algorithm to their photos making things look clean and vibrant. The reality is that the place is not all that clean and the colors are surely not all the vibrant. The first night we didn’t realize there were any issues. The second night all hell broke loose. Traveling with a party of 4 one of us woke up around 2am and started staring at the walls. Then the freak-out began as it was discovered that there were bed bugs all around the room. We immediately went downstairs to the reception desk and insisted they put us in a different room. They didn’t have any rooms available, so they put us across the street for the remaining 5 hours before checkout. In the morning we went back to the reception desk to checkout and they said we owed $60,00 to pay for the taxes. Seriously? I couldn’t believe it! I fired back, and they quickly said they will wave the fee. I would think so! This was just the beginning of a very long 9-day cruise when the bed bug bites started to show themselves. Turns out when you get bit by a bed bug it can take up to 2 weeks to show itself. Everyone but one of us started getting red bumps and welts over our arms and legs. It was quite brutal the amount of itchy pain we were in. My wife will have some permanent scaring on her fingers. What’s disturbing is that contacting them for a refund they ignore our requests. They don’t even acknowledge that we’ve filed a complaint. STAY AWAY!
