More about the hotel
low season stay in Rome
This was our first visit to Rome, we stayed for a week at the end of February (low season). As our flight from France arrived late evening, we booked a private transfer from the airport (Ciampino) to the hotel (cost 50 euros) booked via the hotel by e-mail. Be aware that there is no reception after 20:00 so you are given a phone number to call so that somebody will come to open the door and show you to your room. The person who came was very helpful and spoke English and French. The room we had was on the first floor opposite the Basilica di san Clemente, the room was very clean and had coffee and tea making facilities. The bathroom has a large shower, as in a lot of hotels you must run the hot water a while before it heats up. The room had a nice comfortable double bed with a small seating area on the side. Television was mostly Italian but had the French 24 hour news service and a channel that showed English programs / films. The staff on the reception were very helpful and spoke excellent English , the breakfast staff were also very helpful but spoke less English but it was not a problem to communicate with them for ordering tea or cappuccino etc. The breakfast was good with Italian pastries, toast, yogurt cereal, cold hams etc. The hotel is situated a couple of hundred meters from the Colosseum with plenty of reasonable priced restaurants in the area. The restaurant “Ristorante Colosseo” seemed the best value ,every evening was full. The metro station is around a 5-minute walk, there is a bus stop just at the end of the road. However we visited most of the historical sites by foot as the hotel is situated right in the middle of the main attractions apart from the Vatican (you can reach it by foot but count at least 1 hours walk) , its easier to take the metro. All in all we had a lovely stay in Rome aided by a nice , comfortable friendly hotel. When we visit again we will try to book this hotel.
A great experience
I stayed at the hotel for a week and it was perfect.... from the location to the quality of the rooms to the intimate atmosphere and the attention to detail all around. I specially thought the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Special kudos to Francesca who did the morning breakfast service and Luca at the front desk. Will definitely be back.
Beautiful little Hotel by the Colosseo
I had a very comfortable stay at Profumo, Marina who checked me in and out was very sweet, friendly, helpful and accommodating. The Hotel is in a lovely location right in front of the Colosseo and lots of restaurants around. I hope to return again in the near future.
Fantastic Loaction
So happy with this hotel. Friendly staff, clean rooms (although a lot smaller than the images look) and perfect location just 5 minutes walk to the Colosseum. The continental breakfast was ok, but cannot complain since it was ‘free’. There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby (I would highly recommend the ‘Naumachia Ristorante’) and the train station is just a 5 minutes walk if you wanted you venture out of the city.
Cutest spot
We loved this place!! Such a cute boutique looking motel. Great location, can almost see the coliseum from the street. Great restaurants near by. The room was small, particularly the shower, though what it lacked in space it made up for in character and quality service. Would happily stay again.
