More about the hotel
No customer service - only care for the money
My fiance and I had booked a 3-day stay at this hotel for our honeymoon trip to Greece & Italy right after our wedding. Unfortunately, a couple of days before the wedding, my fiance's brother passed away and the wedding and honeymoon had to be postponed. Understanding that we had booked a non-refundable reservation, we reached out to the hotel to see if there was anything that they could possibly do to support us during this difficult time and to help get some of our money back or at least a credit for the future. Unfortunately, all the hotel cared about was the money. They told us that since we got a "lower rate", they couldn't do anything about it. So disappointing and disheartening considering that there was still 14-days left before we would've checked into this hotel. We will definitely not be returning to the hotel in the future or will make sure our friends/family also do not either.
Amazing location, value for money great
This apartment was perfect for location. 5-10 min walk away from major tourist spots and close supermarkets and restaurants. I’d recommend for restaurants to keep down the quiet side streets as food is cheaper and surprisingly so much nicer. The staff here are so friendly and helpful. The buses are a great for transport, way more cheaper than taxis and there’s a bus stop down the road. Around €1.50, I just downloaded the Roma bus app to route me. I’d advise to pre book tours on here as their cheaper! overall this was an excellent choice. There were a few downfalls, there were 15 flights of stairs to get to our apartment. The WiFi didn’t really work. You had to hold the shower head to wash and the hair dryer was broken. And unfortunately the beds were hard and quite uncomfortable. But value for money and cleanliness you couldn’t knock it. I would definitely recommend this place for the younger generation like myself but maybe for the elderly the hard beds and the flights of stairs everyday would probably be too much. Thank you for a wonderful stay x
Build in 15th Century!
I was very skeptic when I booked this place, tried to cancel but my booking cannot be change. So me & hubby went a head with very low expectation bec of the “stair” reviews. PROS: It is a 15th century building- architectually historic. The stair steps are marble. The building sits at a corner. The view from our veranda (rm 302) was great! The fountain of Barberini sits directly in front. The room is clean, comfortable, & surprisingly quiet at night. WiFi, flat screen TV, coffee maker (water boiler & instant packets), small fridge are room amenities. Auto-set air conditioning (which we really like, keeps our room cool at the temp we prefers); good size bathroom with sink (although not enough counterspace & no full size mirror will be nice); toilet & bidet; shower stall with hand head shower are another amenities. No microwave in room but available through receptionist- we really did not need microwave cause the area is surrounded with diff types of food places. SERVICE: The staff go all & above to take care of your needs. Special mention to Carol, who carried our luggage upon check in & out. And Christina, who cleans our room everyday & give us all the things we needed. This individual attention- is worth mentioning. The place is not a regular hotel that u will expect bells & whistle. But if u want to experience the culture of Rome- this is it. LOCATION: close to almost everything. The bus station is just across the street at the corner. Several choices of restaurants, grocery store, & shopping malls. Walking distance to (Termini Station 5-7min, Trevi Fountain 10-12 mins , Spanish Steps 7mins, & Pantheon 20mins.) It is literally at center of Rome. CONS: Definitely the STAIRS with no air condition! Yes, it is 90 steps to 3rd floor. But this is not like a continues steps. It has several turns & landing which allows you to rest. They have 6 landings total that u can rest & 2 of these have a bench u can sit & rest. My suggestion to management: put some historic conversational piece on the stair wall that would entice the eye of the people to help ease the task of climbing steps. But as we go to different sights in Rome, I found out that steps is pretty regular thing to expect. I can’t think of any cons. I recommend spending extra Euro on using their “taxi” service - We were personally picked up at the airport with a Mercedes Van. And the driver got us into the building easily. Another personal service, worth mentioning. Saved as the pain in going thru public transportation with our luggages in Rome. Regular taxi pretty much ask the same amount. €50 The building front door looks like a regular apartment entrance with security button. No lobby like the regular hotel. The receptionist/host desk is located at 6th landing -3rd floor. This is like an apartment complex building converted to a hostel. You use ur room key to open both your room door and front door. Overall I gave it a 4stars for location with view, location for being close to everything, comfort in the room, staff service & historic value.
Basic 90 steps to part time reception!!!
Never again ,you need a shower evertime you attempt the steps back up !! And getting a suitcase up is a challenge in its self ! Great location very basic ,and limited reception ,shower was cold ,towels Rock hard but hey England just beat Columbia so that helped me back up to the room
Lovely hotel
We stayed at Suite Artis Barberini for three nights. This is a small hotel close to the metro station. Beautiful and clean rooms, with AC and a refrigerator. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Walking distance to all over Rome!
