Great experience with a nice surprise!
I shared a room with my best friend during my birthday weekend trip to Rome. Even though we got a room with one double bed rather than two single beds and we were asked to pay €7 each tax upon arrival, I was very satisfied with the overall experience- the room had a bathroom and a balcony, everything was perfectly clean and neat. We had 3 towels each, a kettle with mugs and some tea, 3 mirrors, a tv and a sofa. It is also located 3 mins walk from Termini station which makes it very easy to get anywhere- centre/ subway/airports. The customer service was fantastic: on my birthday morning the person working at the reception knocked on the door and gave me a huge bunch of flowers! I later found out my mum had messaged the hotel (she knew where i was staying) and asked if they can give me flowers on her behalf and they agreed! I will definitely come back there!
Only if there is no alternative
I often stay near Termini and location-wise this is ideal - 2 mins to the station maximum. It’s also very inexpensive. The staff are well-meaning and will try and help. The accommodation is situated on the fifth floor of a very old building and, when the water went off for hours leaving no drinking water or toilet flushing, the staff were rather more ‘relaxed’ about it than I’d have liked - well it is on fifth floor and water pressure sometimes doesn’t quite make it. Mmm. Perhaps not what you want to hear after a day’s walking in Rome. But the room was clean, bathroom and shower comfortable and the charmingly (?) retro elevator worked.
Charged 9 days after booking was cancelled
We had to cancel our booking at Rome Point Inn due to a change of our itinerary. 9 days after our FREE cancellation was confirmed via email, they charged my credit card for the full amount. Yes, these mistakes can happen. But after numerous phone calls and emails they made no effort to do a refund or even apologize.
Nice cheap accommodation
Stayed here for five nights with my partner. Yes like most reviews about this place we were also asked to move to hotel postiano due to overbooking but I just point blanked refused as I had heard terrible reviews and the manager who greeted us just accepted and allowed us to stay put. The accommodation is basic but good for the price. We also enjoyed a balcony room with a nice view but at night can be quiet loud if the balcony doors are left open as the hotel is on a busy street. Would recommend for couples or friends on a budget but not really for families as it is on the fifth floor and there is no restaurant or entertainment. Would very much have appreciated proper tea cups instead of plastic ones though. The manager Muhammad is very nice and welcoming everytime we arrived back from a long day out and very prompt with his cleaning schedule every morning.
Overbooked and moved to horrible Hotel Positano
As we showed up to Rome Point Inn for our 5 night stay we were told that the hotel was 'overbooked' and that we were staying down the road at Hotel Positano. Hotel Positano is a two star hotel with awful bathrooms; ours alone had a hole in the shower wall, mould everywhere and the toilet seat wasn't even attached (please see photos). The bed was old and the springs dug into me. The wifi didn't work and the hairdryer was broken with wires hanging out everywhere. The only plus was the air conditioning. I would not recommend Rome Point Inn because you risk having to stay in awful Hotel Positano..
