Staying in Hotel New York really is a unique experience. The whole building breathes a historical atmosphere that still feels cosy and inviting. I love how the furniture and accessories remind you of the role it played in the fifties, when people left the quay to migrate to the United States and Canada. Lots of maritime details, mixed with industrial design and furniture in 50’s style (and even a big leaded glass window on the first floor) makes the interior of the building feel like a time warp. Our room was large, light and comfortable, with large windows overlooking the waterfrond and classy wooden blinders to repeat that nostalgic atmosphere. Yet the bathroom was large and modern with a rainshower, and the room was fitted with airconditioning. To top it al off, the staff seems to be happy to work there, breakfast is excellent (although a bit on the expensive side for €20), and the area around hotel is great for lounging and relaxing. The city center is at walking distance (a 30 min walk) so that is definately a bonus as well. We hope to return someday!

What a wonderful, stylish hotel full of great 1920s details! Try to book a room with a river view and make sure to enjoy the ample breakfast. Was truly happy with the smiling and helpful staff members who went out of their way to make this a memorable stay.

The best hotel experience in The Netherlands. We specially book every year just to stay in this hotel to have a lovely and relaxed experience. Staff, accomadation and the restaurant are so good and friendly.

Booked a room through the reservation system of the hotel and received my confirmation. A day later the room was cancelled by the hotel by phone: due to some "system failure" the room was double booked. Very dissatisfying and unprofessional respons by Hotel New York. Lame excuses, no alternatives, no offer to make up for the hotel's failure. Definitely: I will never visit this hotel or restaurant again. Not worth to spend my money there.

Wonderful hotel on a beautiful and historic spot. With the water taxi you are down town in no time. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Rotterdam has so much to offer, it really changed a lot over the years and is well worth a visit.
