AVOID THIS MOCKERY OF A HOTEL

Long story short, rescue your holiday and AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. You may think it’s a good deal at first, but you will soon realise it is actually grossly overpriced for what it actually delivers. This is just about the weakest 5* that I have ever seen, starting with its service. The staff is as unfriendly as it is incompetent: We were kicked out of the spa at 6:30 instead of 9 pm for some obscure reason, only to find out that the kitchen was closing early without anyone caring to give us a heads up. To add insult to injury, we shared this feedback with the front desk manager, which could not be more indifferent. The almost funny grand finale of this HORRENDOUS EXPERIENCE consisted in the concierge calling us 3 days after we had left to ask for payment for a room we actually never occupied!!! STAY AWAY.

We are loving to come back to this hotel. This time we wanted to stay 3 nights, but were only able to get booking for 2 nights, as there were no more rooms available. To stay in this hotel is an experience in luxury, service, attention to detail and customer, fine dinning and magnificent outdoor facilities.

Lovely spa hotel for a getaway

We stayed three nights in a junior suite which was lovely. They will pick you up and drop you at Schoenried train station if you request it, which is handy with luggage. Thanks to the pandemic, no external guests as can imagine it would be too overwhelming. As it was, the hotel was fully booked. The weather was ok but not fabulous but the area is still nice for non skiers and remarkably quiet despite proximity to the station. The spa pools are wonderful and I enjoyed a session of aqua aerobics. Maybe the instructor was smiling behind the mask! There is a kiosk which is convenient and I had a fabulous anti stress massage with Yvonne! Our suite was comfortable, clean and well appointed. A bit hot so can imagine in the heat of summer, likely too warm. Free water every day... a home made ice tea on departure... Overall the staff were excellent and with the gourmet full board, you don’t starve! Food was delicious in the eve and nice wine selection. It is a dog friendly hotel so expect to see a few, also in the restaurant. You have the same table each meal which is fine bit a change would have been nice. Breakfast and cheese buffets need better signage to make it clear that hand disinfectant is mandatory but gloves optional. The main gripe we had was the Cigar lounge that should normally be a peaceful and relaxing place to smoke, drink, read, play chess etc was regularly taken over by rowdy, noisy and disrespectful guests! So to avoid this, I suggest a sign to indicate quiet talking and minimise the number of people, especially considering covid. All in all, a somewhat pricey but luxury break.
