More about the hotel
Rustic but lots of potential
We were part of a Road Scholar tour and spent 3 nights here. It is a lovely place (actually chilly when we were there) but quite isolated and the room, although huge did not meet my expectations. We had a king bed and bedside tables but no other furniture. We had to ask for chairs and a table to be brought. We had to ask for hangers for our clothing - others had no towels in their room.. No bedside reading lamps. The food is simple but good. The friendly staff tries hard to accommodate but doesn't seem to know what tourists want. They don't take credit cards so we had to settle up the bar bill with pesos (no ATM). We never saw the manager. Too bad, because it wouldn't take much to make this place very nice.
Was a great experience, went to a cenote underground with a fresh clear wather
the people always helpfull and smiling, they have bikes to take a short but excited ride, you may have a relaxing day swim at the cenote and next at the pool. have drinks take a sun bath and imagine how was living when the hacienda use to be a henequen factory
This hidden gem has everything
We had a perfect day out here. The hacienda itself is as elegant and full of old world charm as you could hope, the pool is large and stylish, and the underground cernote incredibly clear - with fun jumping off platform and a sandy bottom in the shallower end which makes it good for kids. The grounds of the hacienda are full of huge trees that provide shade and made the whole place feel cool and breezy, despite 38 degree heat back in Merida. There are 12 hammocks in a row under some shady netting, a trampoline for the kids, as well as a lily pond to spot frogs and turtles in (the baby crocodile mentioned in another review died apparently) and grounds to explore on foot or by bike. We drank litres of aqua de limon, beers for the adults, and lunched by the pool. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the manager keen to tell us all about the place and help in any way. Six hours slipped past for adults and children alike (we were four adults and five kids aged from 1 to 8). And for most of the day we had the whole place to ourselves. On a practical level, it was easy to get to - we didn't have our own transport, but we phoned the hacienda and they told us what collectiva (mini bus) to get. It took under an hour and dropped us at the gates. Entrance at 150 pesos was very reasonable and a lot cheaper than most other haciendas. I would thoroughly recommend it as relaxing, charming and fun. Next time I'd love to stay for a few nights.
Stunning cenote under a pool.
A lovely hacienda with expansive grounds that has a gem of a cenote underground, with a pool above it. We spent a few hours going up and down from pool to the cenote and back. The poolside service was yummy (we only had beer and snacks) and the folks running the place are really helpful. My kids loved it.
Quiet, relaxed, enjoyable afternoon
Quiet and relaxing. Bikes, hammocks, chairs, nice landscape and vegetation. Top it up with a very nice and big cenote just below the pool. Price was very reasonable at 150 pesos and no time limit in the cenote. Puc Choc was Ok not bad but no sour orange or marinated onions. No supervision in cenote so younger kids are better at the pool. We had the place to ourselves. Note: A bit out of the way and Google does make you do a few extra turns. I came back through Muna and it was easier. No credit cards
