Choose a different place ...

Not actually in old town, but maybe a 5-10 minute walk, Wi-fi OK, pretty historical house ... Small lumpy bed, tiny awkward very wet bathroom, room not cleaned the entire time I was there, closet/cupboard smelled moldy, owners have no English, basically no service offered, TV had no English channels, dark sitting room. Three day stay. Then I left and went to a different and NICE hotel in old town Safranbolu.
could be better

I stayed for one night in this hotel. Hotel is located in the center of historical safranbolu. Room is not equipped well. no boiler nothing no refrigerator (minibar). Bed is very old. and feel comfortable. There is a parking area with free of charge. Building is very nice. old historical one. I do not recommend to have a breakfast. They provide you the breakfast quality like how much you paid to hotel. The price is reasonable. The bathroom is to small. Heating is great. Wifii is not working. I couldn't access the internet. There is no telephone in the room.
Would not recommend

Unfortunately we would not recommend to stay here. It's too bad because it is a unique and beautiful old ottoman home. However if you value sleep, even a little of it, stay away. Staff and their family/friends kept us up until wee hours of the morning talking, watching obnoxiously loud TV and smoking like chimneys (not great if youre sick or have asthma like myself and partner). TV was very loud and played continuously 24hrs/day. You can hear every movement or noise in the house. Upon check-in (even though we reserved online ahead of time and gave them a fairly specific ETA) no one was around except a 9 yr old boy who spoke no English. This little guy had to check us in and show us our room. Even the cab driver had a very difficult time finding this place. He must have stopped to ask locals directions about 5 times. The breakfast was very poor and the house smelt like a 200 year old home. Musty mothball smell. Staff weren't helpful or overly friendly. Limited English.
Loud TV playing non stop and general lack of service

The building is nice but you will hear the reception TV playing non stop until late at night. Rooms on the third floor might be quieter, although you can hear people walking, snoring, and listening to their individual rooms TV. There is a general lack of service: have to ask for toilet paper, minimal breeakfast, room is not done, toilet waste basket not emptied, etc. Turkish style shower ie splashing all over the bathroom since no cabin. Apart from the cleaning lady, we have not seen any woman from the family as you usually do in Turkey. So woman travellers might feel uncomfortable. Reception populated by loud speaking men.

We booked the hotel because we were looking for affordable accommodation in Safranbolu. While we were still travelling they called from the hotel to find out what time we are going to arrive. The boy from the hotel came to the bus station and picked us up. It was all nicely organized. I'm glad that we stayed in the old town because it is a bit far away from the newer part of the city.
The hotel is in an old traditional wooden house and looked pretty. Our room was probably not the best one in the building (and that is understandable considering the room rate) but it was still nice and clean. The bathroom was also ok. Breakfast was served downstairs and it was typically Turkish- bread, cheese, tomatoes, jams, watermelon, honey and so on. No coffee, just tea- so bring your own instant coffee if you need some.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, but they did not speak any English. My mother knows some Turkish but traveling alone I would have been in trouble!
If you need any help or guidance then go to the tourist information in the old town centre, they speak English and can help you with bus tickets, reservations, etc.
