Bad business
We booked this place in July. Made a down payment as requested with a wire transfer. A few days later we requested to complete payment before our arrival (because they do not accept credit cards) with same procedure: the wire transfer. In fact, nobody these days travels with roughly a thousand euros in his pocket, nor goes to any ATM in a foreign country to get cash. It takes a few days to get the total amount and there is an important fee, at least if you are not from Europe, as in our case. A wire transfer is totally legitimate and foreseen by this business, as stated on the website. But the owner sent us a very rude email with an offensive tone, demanding for cash, saying that we were the only guests with such a silly problem, that wire transfers are not a guarantee of payment (?!) because people could cancel them up until a month later and therefore we would "pay as he said"!! Under these circumstances we decided not to go and lose the 300Euro paid, because nobody should treat customers these way, because he wrote on his site that wire transfers were a good form of payment. Vacations are for relaxing, not to go into this sort of atmosphere... I wish we could have cancelled the wire transfer through the bank as he said, but "Dear Sir" that is really inaccurate and false statement! Wire transfers are indeed a guaranteed form of payment and cash is no longer used for Hotel transactions or B&B, as you like to call yourself.
Young couple take honeymoon break- boat style!
My husband and I recently stayed on 'the boat in the garden'- a break from our lovely house near Gordes which unfortunately is pool-less. We looked for hotels near Chateauneuf du Pape with pool and found this BnB with a 'wild card' option of a boat in the garden. It is that, a very sturdy, refurbished old sailing boat- with separate (compost) toilet (luxury style) and shower cubicle (with basin etc) right next to the boat- screened by planting from other guests. Pool is great, breakfast lovely- homemade yogurt!! You may or may not be lucky enough to get a begging ginger cat! Not a place for people who don't like nature, insects, snails or are not used to camping. Only space for two (smallish people) realistically- expect 'glamping' and you will be happy. Dinner good but maybe a bit expensive for the quantity and wine prices are upped a bit too. Lovely, married hosts Michael and Evelyn (spellings not sure?) keen to help you plan trips and advise- French speaking is preferred! A VERY VERY nice local wine cave nearby- Chateau Correnson, when you drive into Saint-Geniès-de-Comolas from Michele and Evelyn's home it's on the left before the village- cute barrel letter box n all! Thank you both and our special German family staying also- we had a great time!
The place to visit!
Charming place, very beautiful. The exact place we wanted to visit to feel the Provence. Hosts were very nice, friendly and helpfull. We've been in search of what to see long before coming to the place. But finally decided where to go with the help of Evelyne, and it was really great. We stayed for 4 nights but it wasn't enough to see all the seeings. All in all, perfect breakfast, perfect relax in the swimming pool after a long day of traveling across Provence and of course sweet sleep.
rock the boat!
Amazing place! Super friendly hosts with delicious, fresh food in an exceptional environment! We have spend one night on the boat, which was a unique experience. We got some good tips from the hosts for visiting the environment as well.
Great place, location and owners
Great place, very quiet and beautiful surroundings. This is a "chambre d'hôtes" (B&B), where you will be the only persons staying, as the owners rent only 1 very spacious room (+ possible to rent 1 other small room for kids) at the 1st floor. These rooms are located in a separate part of the house, with a private entry from the garden into the groundfloor living-room/dining room at your disposal. The bedroom is very spacious with simple, but beautiful decoration/furniture, large bathroom and separate toilet. You will feel at home immediately, also because the owners are very friendly and helpful. You can have dinner upon reservation, which you should definitely do. We had a delicious 5-course dinner for € 25 each, wine and water incl. Great location to visit Avignon, Orange, Le Pont du Gard and many more. As there is a swimming pool, you can relax in the garden or you can make a walk in the beautiful and quiet surroundings. We will definitely go back there.
