Best Value in the Area
Recent budget hotel with modern design. + Nice staff, quiet location, very good value, clean - complete lack of charm, located a bit in the middle of nowhere Perfect functional place for a short stay at sweet price.
Lives up to its Name
I stayed two nights in this hotel in early October. I chose it for its low cost in comparison to other hotels around the area. This is a new hotel that really lives up to its name "budget". The bed was comfortable, the sheets and towels were OK. The room was small and almost bare bone lacking a proper desk and chair for business needs. Its location is quite far from the nearest LRT station (CERN) if you stay here for visiting Geneva. The breakfast was good for its low cost.
Clean new hotel!
This hotel in really new, modern architecture, with medium bed rooms size. With huge parking free area, in a great location, full access to Cern and Saint-Genis-Pouilly. Amazing breakfast as well. Enjoy
Nice and new
If you wish to avoid the high prices on, well, just about everything in Geneva then a stay in Saint Pouilly, over the border in France. And if you want a cheap room by French standards that is nice and new then the Ibis Budget is a good choice. A family of 4 with 2 teenagers coped for 2 nights in a very small 'family' room with no trouble. A family room is like any other room but with 2 single beds in wardrobes. It's better than that may sound. Limited food on offer in the hotel but it is a short walk to the nearby supermarket and restaurants. It was nice to sit outside the hotel in the evening with a cold beer from the 'bar' and look at Mont Blanc in the distance. 15 minutes to Geneva airport and 10 minutes to CERN. Staff were very nice although VERY stretched at breakfast times as there was one person doing EVERYTHING from reception to serving breakfast to clearing up. Be nice to them as they I'm sure they would welcome more help. I'd stay here again. And avoid the high prices of Geneva.
Great for CERN visit
The hotel was brand new when we spent the night there. Very welcoming multilingual staff - We got the room according to our requests at booking. Clean, bright, welcoming - Strategically located for a visit to the CERN in Switzerland. a 3 mn walk to their same brand hotel in the same complex where they have a full service restaurant - We were too tired after a whole day drive to look for any other restaurant and it was getting late - it was perfect for our needs. Breakfast was good with a variety of choices. If driving, be cautious getting back on the highway to go to switzerland, make sure to take direction Geneva, it's a little tricky ... or you'll end up going back on the toll highway in the opposite direction - If you are going to the CERN visitor center , you must cross the border into switzerland, (check with your car rental agency before your trip to allow to cross the border with their car) so do not take the exit to the CERN on the French side, that is for employees only (based on personal experience ...). If using public transportation it's not a big issue. My own translation in French : L’hôtel était tout neuf quand nous y avons passé la nuit- Propre et accueillant. Situation stratégique parfaite pour une visite du CERN en Suisse. Personnel multilingue très accueillant et souriant. La chambre correspondait a notre demande au moment de la réservation. Trop fatigués a notre arrivée pour chercher un restaurant et nous avons mange a la Courte Paille a 3mn de l’hôtel a un autre Ibis. Le buffet petit-déjeuner était parfait pour nous avec variété de choix. Attention en sortant de la pour aller au CERN, il faut prendre la direction Genève, c'est un petit peu compliqué... sinon on se retrouve sur l'autoroute dans la direction opposée. Bien prendre la bretelle indiquée Genève, ne pas sortir a la 1 ère indication pour le CERN du coté Français c'est pour le Personnel seulement (selon expérience personnelle ... testée pour vous :-) ). Le centre de visiteurs est bien indiqué en Suisse - On se gare et il faut traverser l'avenue pour aller au centre.
