My partner is French and has family living nearby in Avesnes-Sur-Helpe. We stayed for the weekend and found the place to be truly lovely. The room was large and absolutely immaculate. The setting is a beautiful oasis on the rolling hills of the Avesnois. In the morning we were treated to a delicious breakfast of locally and home produced breads, brioche, butter and preserves. The lovely couple running the B&B were extremely helpful and accommodating. I will definitely stay here again next time we visit and really look forward to doing so. A big thank you to our hosts for making it such a delight

This was the highlight of our French trip and the nicest accommodation by far. Barbara and Stephane were the consumate hosts, obviously enjoying interacting with their guests. We had 2 evening meals with them, and loved not only the food but their company. The meals easily eclipsed that which we had at a fairly classy nearby restaurant!! We also appreciated the advice Stephane gave us on local sights... He was right on the button and made our stay a wonderful experience. I cannot recommend it enough!
Perfect chambre d'hôtes

We only stayed one night at the beginning of a trip to Bavaria but it was an extremely comfortable one and we partook of the most delicious meal! The room, Aubepine, was beautifully appointed, clean, airy and comfortable with an excellent shower. There is an "honesty bar" in the form of a fridge with beer, cider and apple juice (some wine would have been nice) and the opportunity to wander round the farmland and garden was much appreciated. Barbara and Stéphane were kind and welcoming and it was a special treat to share a wonderful meal prepared by Barbara with them and other guests. We had beetroot soup, carbonnade flamande with carrots in cream sauce and purée of nettles followed by elderflower cream with redcurrants. This was all washed down with elderflower wine, red wine from Pays d'Oc and dandelion wine - wow! Breakfast was also lovely but we forgot to eat the homemade yogurt! This is a wonderful place to "get away from it all" and we were sorry our stay was so short.
A great place to stay.

Excellent accommodation. Lovely, comfortable room and a superb breakfast. Warm friendly welcome and in a beautiful setting. The communal lounge, with wood burning stove was a closet place to relax on a winter’s evening.

The moment we arrived we already felt very comfortable. The area is quiet and just outside the town but especially the meadow with all the donkeys (so cute) and the view is beautiful. We (2 adults and 3 teenagers) stayed for 2 nights and had 2 rooms. The rooms were very clean and the showers really nice. Luckily the showerhead was on a normal height for tall people. We slept very well on the beds because it was so quiet and dark in the room. The living area was also really nice!! Next to the amazing fireplace we were able to do our games at the dinner table. So a perfect stay for a few days...
