HORRIFIC, GROSS, DISGUSTING!! STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS !! GOT SICK !!

Absolutely, by far, the WORST, MOST DISGUSTING hotel I've ever stayed at. Just walking down the hall, to my room, large stains on every inch of the carpet and walls, and smells moldy. It was like walking through a HORROR movie!! The carpet and walls in the room were just as AWFUL. The bedding and linen smelled NASTY, like mildew. I couldn't sleep or even rest. The bathroom was FILTHY. No towels. I rented the suite and all the furniture, sofa and desk chair were RIPPED and STAINED. Ugh GROSS. Soo gross!! There were fingerprints all over the window glass. I ended up FEELING SO SICK TO MY STOMACH I had to check out by 6am. The parking is also very dark and difficult to exit. They charge for parking. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE!! THEY WILL NOT REFUND YOU A DIME !! I booked through hotels.com and requested a refund but was denied because I didn't complain at the hotel. The hotel told me to direct my refund request to the booking source. I told hotels.com I felt so sick I just had to leave from there as soon as possible. Remembering the whole stay makes me shudder. 😖

The Convenience was Only Surpassed by the Kindness of the Staff.

I've seen some negative comments about the hotel's appearance, but they are in the process of renovations, so people need to lighten up. This is a beautiful hotel but more importantly, their front desk staff is amazing. My mother was in St. Louis for medical treatment and I needed to put her some place where she could rest while being close to my downtown office so I could check on her periodically throughout the day. The woman that took my reservation was the same beautiful person that greeted me when I came to check in and get the room setup for my mom. She was so helpful, kind, and accommodating, unlike anything I've every experienced. She went above and beyond. She even gave me flowers for my mother to brighten her room and a lovely card wishing us both well as my mother recovered. I've rarely seen such kindness exhibited by a stranger and her thoughtfulness made it possible for me to get through a really tough week. I will never forget this experience and will highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to St. Louis or just looking for a stay-cation. It's within walking distance of the Blues Hockey arena and St. Louis Union Station.

We arrived and the parking area was incredibly dark, the hallways are definitely something out of the shining. Very dark, carpet is stained and bunching/rippling in some places and has that musty smell. Our room was very similar. Lamps in the sitting area of the suite didn't work, the couch bed had a spring hanging out of it and tears in it and stains all over the walls and as we later discovered the door did not have a bolt and there was no phone in the room. The bedroom area wasn't as bad but the carpets definitely were nearly black and socks/feet if walked on? Dirty. The bathroom had a hole in the ceiling, stains all over the walls. The whole experience was honestly like something out of a horror movie. Very uncomfortable the whole stay and left the trip early just to get out of the hotel. - Also did not get a receipt because we tried checking out after 11 am after the breaking point of gunfire outside the hotel the night before. They"couldn't give us a receipt" so a little worried about this given the awful state of the room - hoping they aren't going to try and charge for damages that were there when we arrived. The staff was nice though we had to ask for our keys to be fixed multiple times.

There is a lot to like about this hotel. We arrived in St. Louis after midnight on the train and this hotel is right across the street from the train station. We had a 15 hour layover and a bed and shower sounded better than sleeping at the train station so we splurged. The lobby is spacious and welcoming. The staff is very friendly and that includes the security people. Our check in was smooth. Our king suite on the 7th floor was spacious and nicely decorated. Tons of channels on the t.v.'s (2 in our suite). There was a refrigerator, microwave, and plenty of outlets to charge electronics. The shower was hot with plenty of pressure. The bed was so comfortable I slept like a baby. In the morning, they were happy to store our luggage so we could run to the arch for a quick visit (only a 5 minute Uber ride away) The price for all of this was excellent. Less than $100. So much better than spending the night at the train depot. The only negatives are: the carpets throughout the hotel and in our room are horribly stained and we didnt walk on them with bare feet. It would be nice if they could tear out the carpet and replace with hard flooring. And no ice machines worked on any of the floors. Other than that, 5 stars for service, location, sleep quality, etc. This hotel is a majestic old building with tons of potential. I hope Oyo is able to clean it up a bit (carpets mainly) and restore it to glory.

American horror story/Cecil hotel of St Louis

This is the worst hotel i have ever been in…compare to the American Horror Story/Hotel Old, needs updated tremendously Told us we could not check in until til due to they were so busy & over booked. Didn’t see a sole in the place. Tv did not work No coffee pot Mattress so awful, dip in middle Stains all over the floors Has a 13th floor (no high rise has 13th floor) Located in awful part of town & next to the morgue Ice machine didn’t work Refrigerator was not working Would not recommend to ANYONE
