Just spent 2 very relaxing nights in this beautiful hotel having been on the coast for a few days before . We had room 15 which gave a fantastic view of the town from our wrap round balcony and overlooked the pool with the coastline in the distance. The rooms are tastfully decorated and the pool is such a haven after a few hours sightseeing . The hotel is about a 15 minute walk into town but there is a complementary 2cv car to whisk you in when required which was a highlight in itself. This is a very well run hotel overseen by Heinz and his team and is the ideal base for a few days in this beautiful part of the world. ps The dark haired lady on reception was very information ,helpful and a definite asset to your hotel.
One of my favorite hotels in France

This place was amazing. The village itself is SO charming. You can walk to it from the hotel. As for the hotel, I can't recommend it enough. Every staff member is so sweet and friendly! The hotel is so charming. The rooms are wonderful and newly updated and clean. Breakfast was outstanding! The pool and terrace area is nice. Parking available. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. The only recommendation I have would be to have drinks by the pool.

My wife and i are just about at the end of a full week at Le Grand Bastide, and we would like to thank all staff for a wonderful time. They were all extremely helpful, from giving us a lift along the road in their delightful Citroen 2CV (several times), to arranging gluten free food for breakfasts. A very special place! The hotel is near the end of a small valley, just opposite the medieval village (25 ish minutes easy stroll). There are plenty of very good restaurants there, and many places to view/buy fine works of art. There is also plenty of enjoyment to be had, simply walking the ancient streets, or around the walls and admiring the breathtaking views, all the way to the Mediterranean Sea.
very nice boutique hotel with excellent staff and a good location

this is a great boutique hotel looking out to the village of of st paul du vence (i think all the rooms have taht view) . The staff where all very friendly and efficient and the breakfast was served on a lovely terrace and again very good. the pool was heated to nearly 28 degrees which made it very pleasant at the end of September. there are plenty of sunbeds round the pool and garden . a great feature was a little black Citroen 2cv car they run you into the town in when you want to to go out . you can either walk back ( 25 minutes down hill or get a taxi. its also a 3 min walk to alain llorca which is fab for lunch /dinner. i would certainly stay here again.
Sadly a very unpleasant experience. In need of a renovation and not 4-star quality

Unfortunately I had a very poor experience at this hotel due to a number of issues: There were a lot of problems with the key/lock in the door. Many times I was trying for about 10 minutes to lock the door both from the inside and the outside. At times I gave up and didn’t lock my door because it didn’t work There were ants everywhere, in the room and on the walls directly outside the room and in the bathroom There was some plumbing issues with the toilet as the floor was soaking wet and something must have been faulty with the toilet because it was all wet and something was wrong with the pipes The shower is actually dangerous. There are two knobs for hot and cold and no pressure knob. If you turn the hot on then you are immediately scolded with dangerously hot boiling water. If you want a stronger powered shower then you have to increase the temperature of either cold or hot. The sink is the same, if you turn the hot on you are immediately burnt with boiling water. Both the shower and sinks are very unpleasant to use The toilet seat had marks on it, it needs to be repaired The lack of food service is really unacceptable considering the price of the room. This is supposed to be a 4-star hotel. There is no food served at any point after 3pm. In any hotel around the world food is served 24/7, even small village boutique hotels serve some kind of food in the evening, that’s what a hotel is for. This is not helpful for travelers who arrive in the evening or if someone just wants to eat dinner instead of going to a restaurant in town. Whether or not it is advertised online that they don’t have a Restaurant, it’s shocking that a 4-star hotel doesn’t have one! There was hair in the bathroom upon check in from other visitors. There was hair in the bed, the bed may have not been changed. The 2 ladies working the reception tried their best though and were as helpful as possible But given the poor circumstances of the hotel it was a shame. The hotel needs to be renovated as seen in the pictures. It isn’t a 4 star quality. More like 3 star
