Do not stay here, auto burglaries in parking lot
Do not stay here. Vehicle burglaries/theft occurring in the parking lot. Management is aware and apathetic. Look at other reviews, other sites, its a problem. Multiple vehicles hit the night I was there. Don't risk your belongings/vehicle.
Great Hotel
If you’re looking for a nice, modern, and clean hotel that’s easily accessible from the freeway, is surrounded by shops and restaurants, and is within a short drive from downtown Salt Lake City, then this is the place for you. It’s right next to a Target and a Nordstrom Rack. Starbucks is a mere 400 feet away. Our room was nice and spacious, like most rooms at any SpringHill Suites property. In light of the current pandemic, they have modified their cleaning protocols and rooms are not serviced everyday unless you specifically request them to do so. Hand sanitizing stations are abundant in the property too. The only thing I didn’t really like about our room was the lack of water pressure in the shower and there was no safe for us to use. I would have given this hotel a 5; unfortunately, the only thing that let it down was the lack of service. During our entire stay, not a single member of staff greeted us and it took them forever to answer the reception phone. The staff just came across as cold and indifferent.
Last Minute Overnight Stay
Last Tuesday, SLC had a huge windstorm with hurricane force winds. The power was out in many places all over the city, including where we lived. While we could have toughed it out at home as many locals did, because the need to have electricity to work from home and to charge devices, we decided to stay overnight in a hotel. We ended up at this hotel because it was the only hotel that I called that answered the phone. We have stayed in SpringHill Suites in other places and had watched this one being built. We had a very pleasant stay and a good night's sleep in the great bed. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. My husband really liked the desk arrangement with good lighting. There were lots of USB ports and plugs for devices. The room was spotless and still smelled new. View out the window to the west wasn't the best. But we weren't there for the view.
Clean & New, Lackluster Service
My car got stolen from the parking lot. That's not 100% this place's fault, I suppose. However, when I tried to have them send the video footage to the police, they were not too worry abut it as a priority. So, that sucks. But, on the other hand, the building is new and the rooms are pretty clean. Overall, I can't say it was a great value, since it cost ~$6,000.00 more than I was anticipating. But, it is certainly new.
Lovely Stay During Pandemic Road Trip
Usually my husband and I seek out curious, interesting, historic, non-chain hotels! We love the adventure. For this trip we wanted no adventure, we just wanted safe and clean. This hotel was not only safe and clean, but new and well run! The staff did not seemed overwhelmed or confused by all the new precautions. They asked how our stay was, when other hotels didn't. They smiled with their masks on. The room was spotless and the lobby area was not creepy, with Covid furniture stacking. Their mask reminder signs were attractive and helpful... not slapped up with tape. Best of all, was the location. Lovely shops and restaurants were within walking distance. (nice to know for future) and I had the most blissful run in a park across the street, with a lake and mountain views. I'm not usually a big fan of chains, but I would happily stay here again!
