Decameron Aquarium

I was in San Andres Island in January in this year, that’s was my first time in this place and I loved it. In San Andres you can find a lot of interesting things, in this place you could meet the pirate Morgan’s cave and learn about pirate Morgan and his legend, if you like water activities, in San Andres you can dive, or you can go to the aquarium. When I was in San Andres, I stayed at the Decameron Aquarium Hotel, I loved this hotel, the food was delicious, the staff were very attentive also this hotel has a beautiful view. At night, the hotel offers three different restaurant options to eat (Italian food, Oriental food and Seafood) also they offers shows about music dance or aerobics. The activities that I did were a complete tour to the island, land and water excursion, also I was in the sea with my parents and my brothers. In conclusion, absolutely that I recommend San Andres, in this place the people are very charismatic and friendly, the atmosphere is very cheerful, the sea is amazing and is known as “The sea 7 colors”. Also, if you’re seafood lover, you’re going to love the food in this place. And off course, you must do the complete tour to the island.

Worst experience dispite the wonderful unique view and oustanding arquitecture and facilities the costumer attention has decreased. I have been a guest for more than 15 years. for more than two years did not come back I Left cali my city in COLOMBIA at 4 am and got to the hotel at 10 am i perfectly understand that check in is at 3 pm but on top of being so tired. Is that too much to ask to be offered at least one coffee that our federation of growers offer for free at hoteles or any other grower or any welcoming salute other than the rough attitude of the people at the front desk giving as only alternative for the five hour wait of an injustified cost? The people at the front desk is not friendly or welcoming at all. The rest of personnel is outstandlily friendly. My first impression is the lack Of renovation. Mainteinence does its best but the building and specially baths are toooo old. Plumbing problems need to be solved. My toilette broke twice last night. I have waited all day for a change of room. They gave one not comparable with the first one. A whole day wasted. Food used to be exceptional. You can hardly say that today. What a lost

First they booked as to another hotel that is closed (Delfines) then they sent as here. They sent as to a salon where you were supposed to take a turn, but they didn’t used it. They didn’t gave us not even a glass of water. We had to wait until 3 pm that is the check-in time and they didn’t gave us the room. They were supposed to call us, we waited and nobody called, we went back and they said there is no signal and my phone shows 4G. The attention and attitude of most the people is bad. It’s so sad that we Colombians can’t even do what is basic, give the service that the user is paying for. I didn’t came here to be more stressed, this was supposed to be a premium service. My advice, find another place.

I was in Aquarium hotel On 19th of frebruary until 23th, this time it was a different experience because our room was junior suite. It was more comfortable for us 3, because we has a lot of luggage. We enjoyed the Italian restaurant On our second night. We really liked non motorized water sports. We swam in the ocean All afternoon. The servers in Deck Bar were so rude and grumpy, The bartender was so bad.

I find all the positive reviews on this site rather suspect. I was very disappointed in the facilities. There is no way this hotel deserves a 4.5 rating. I found it rundown, the food marginal, the staff rude. The whole vacation was a disaster. Now I know the hotel could not control the wind but I wish someone had warned me about the wind as it made most activities unbearable and seems to be a common occupancies. Sitting on a beach with 18mph winds in not pleasant. Most ocean activities were cancelled so the option was to sit in the hotel room as there were no other activities. The provided Wifi would go down ever few minutes so don’t expect to be able to get any internet access. The food service was outrages, if you did not get there early everything was picked over and the staff would start removing the buffet, what was left of it, before the end of the eating period. Most of the staff was snarky and had an attitude of doing you a favor when you made a request. Honestly I am pretty low maintenance and don’t really require much but this was seriously BAD. The hotel itself was run down as was most of the island. Do yourself a favor. Do not go to this island or this hotel you will be seriously disappointed.
