As we had a number of meetings at the adjacent office block, I suggested to my colleague that we book two nights at the Eilan. The valet parking staff was superb, but it was downhill from there. The front desk looked like a check cashing facility, in a rough part of town. I get the Covid protocols, but the plastic screens, are a bit much. Some of the staff could have been attired a little smarter, although they were friendly. I had been looking for laundry service, but this was not available, nor was a restaurant operating for breakfast, nor were rooms serviced on a daily basis. In fact, the admonition we were given about staff not entering the rooms, made me wonder if thefts were an issue. The room though, was impeccable. If you are looking for the amenities essential to business travel however, steer clear of the Eilan.
Nice place, but so far away from downtown!

We stayed at the Eilan Hotel for a few days in October 2021. The first thing that we noticed is that since we did not want to pay the exorbitant parking fees, our first Uber ride from the airport was really expensive, As were all of the Uber rides needed to get to the Alamo or downtown. The Elian is nice - lots of marble, has restaurants, a snack place, a pool and hot tub, exercise room, and especially nice people working there. We were captive though and felt like we were being held captive with no place in the area for non-car folks to get to. If you have a vehicle and can afford the daily parking fees, I guess you would feel very different than we did. We expected a condo and got an okay hotel room. Disappointed.
Almost picture perfect

This hotel is beautiful and every person on the staff are incredibly friendly but I've reduced the overall rating by two stars due to a some issues my husband and I ran into. Check-in is at 4 p.m. however when I arrived I was told my room wasn't ready; the front desk couldn't give me a time to return but provided me with a key to the pool and told me they'd call when the room was ready. We waited for an hour and when I called the front desk to inquire the status, the gentleman who answered told me it was ready. Our room overlooked a rooftop which doesn't bother me too much because we didn't spend a lot of time in there but I was disappointed that the bathroom fan didn't work and the safe didn't have any power. We reported the safe to the front desk and they said they'd send up an engineer but no one ever came. We were also next to the ice machine which was a popular spot all night long but depending on the guests, I doubt this is a common issue. Be aware that parking is valet only which costs $35 per day but it was super convenient and all the staff were very prompt.
Not Luxury At All

Check in was terrible-took forever and there was no one there. Get up to room # 1 and it smelled of terrible smoke! Hotel was dead...they don't check rooms and do an extra deep cleaning and scent check while slow? I guess not. Because additionally my room's office chair and backboard leather were torn and ripped to shreds! See pics. Not luxury at all. I called downstairs to get another room (again there was hardly anyone at the hotel) and it took longer than 15min to get a room change so I decided to go downstairs myself with all my luggage to see what the hold up was. Of course! She was just going to call me to tell me she had a room for me. Room # 2 was better however. Starbucks and pistachio muffin were good in the cafe in the morning but then the valet guys (three of them) couldn't find my key. My car was parked right next to them (I couldn't see because of the column blocking my view) but they could have just looked to their right to see my car! On top of all that, the GM sent me an email asking me how my stay was, I told him about all this and still nothing back from them. I even sent pictures. They don't care. I also never got my portfolio emailed to me despite the front office lady asking for my email address when I checked in for that reason! This hotel with good service and better condition of rooms could be a MUCH MUCH higher ranked hotel, especially in San Antonio!!! Shame on you, Eilan.

Far expensive for what you get. 250 dollars a night plus tax, 35 dollars plus tax every night for valet parking car. Check in at 4pm and check out at 10am. Could be a 12pm will be so much better. For the price of the night the parking should be free, like others hotel near the area. Breakfast not included, if you want one, all you Have is a Starbucks… On Monday the pool bar is closed, but there is more people today than yesterday (Sunday 10/03). The room is fine but small. If you want to take a shower, there is not any air extractor, so a lot of humidity stays in the room… A lot of light is passing from the corridor between the carpet and the room door. First and last visit…
