Charming! And a great location!

My wife and I stayed here while attending an event at the Alamodome. The location is great right next to Hemisfair park, the convention center, the Riverwalk and downtown San Antonio. The valet parking is very convenient and free to non-guests. The hotel is historic and the rooms are each unique with lots of original architectural detail and period furniture. It is true that in some places in our room the wallpaper was peeling a bit and the wood floors creaked, but my opinion is this it is a very special place and quite charming. Not a bordello (as one reviewer phrased it) by any means. Our room was a suite with a full sitting room and a bedroom and bathroom. The shower had two heads which was quite indulgent. Our room also had a private door to the balcony. I liked that it had a lobby bar and courtyard café area, a ground-floor restaurant, and a rooftop bar and restaurant. We did not eat there though as we went to the Riverwalk for dinner. Had excellent breakfast tacos at la Villata Cafe just a half block away. We will definitely come again!
Stay somewhere else!!!

Oh my, where to begin? Please note that the the FairmoUnt is not a FairmOnt! We arrived snd were rudely created by someone who wanted to valet my car but otherwise not smile or be courteous! He was greatly irritated when I asked for a luggage cart. When I go to my room, the AC was out. I had to be relocated. My friends room had dirty sheets…The decor was early Bordello! Lots of red, gold, tassels… old creaky furniture. Tiles were out or cracked in the bathroom and carpet was frayed and old! Outside doors were locked,,, because patios had rotted and needed repair! On checkout… there was NO one to be found… no o e any where… but the valet finally appeared and said my battery was dead and he very nicely charged it for me. Apparently, some one sat in my car all night listening to Hispanic music( that was where the radio was set). And had run the battery totally down! This was the worst place I have stayed in years!!!

LOUSY EXPERIENCE at the rooftop bar. Made reservations for a birthday celebration. So disappointed.... Arrogant and rather unfriendly waiter, overpriced, drab environment. Heaters poorly spaced. We left after one round to go someplace else.
Trip to San Antonio, TX

I recently traveled to San Antonio to celebrate my birthday, visit Riverwalk and the Alamo. In my search for a restaurant I stumbled upon The Fairmont Hotel. I ended up sitting at the downstairs bar and meeting a nice bartender (Philip) who graciously waited on me. He was very kind, attentive and I enjoyed my delicious meal along with a few of his delicious cocktails. I actually returned the following evening. And not to mention, I have met a friend for life. Thanks again!! Douglas/from Virginia.
Lobby Bar Outstanding!

Philip is great! He made me a delicious cocktail using our favorite local distillery’s Rakia (Dorcol). He named it after me... a Mark Sour!!! The rooftop oyster bar is amazing. Alaska king crab legs with oysters from Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick & Massachusetts. Excellent craft cocktails, nice cool breeze, and views of downtown.
