We checked in outside and went to our room. The room was filthy. We took pictures of all of it. Dirty towels, wall dirty, trash on the floor, dirty sheets, food all over the desk. We complained turned in our key and left and they refuse to refund our money.

We really enjoyed this hotel. It was near Ft Sam and many offerings of different food. Very convenient to downtown and the airport. Staff is really helpful and the rooms Are cleaned every day. Must Stay!

I had thoughts about this motel as my usual hotel wasn’t available, but the price, location, service, cleanliness, quaint feel and style has turned me into a loyal customer. The motel appears to have gone through some remodeling and now receives tender loving care as do their guests. I’ve never stayed in motel that has ceramic tile flooring, nice carpet, clean walls and great customer service. The owner/managers treat this business like they own it, and in doing so, put every effort into upkeep and service. This location is close to restaurants, grocery, drug stores, shopping, Fort Sam and downtown. The location appears to be in a not so nice neighborhood/business district, but it’s deceiving. Check this place out as you cannot find anything close to the service, price and comfort within 5 miles.

On arrival they did not have our reservations for the 6 day stay. The lobby consists of a room and a wall with a bullet proof window and pass slot. We had to pay for the room before even seeing it and its posted no refunds. I have never been charged for a room before my stay until now. They had the handicapped room we requested in our reservations, luckily. As we left the office area we were given two keys and a remote for the room TV. The room was very nicely fresh painted and clean that is reason I gave it a 2. The room had a California king size bed, not the king advertised. It also had a desk table, a TV, a frig and 2 end tables. No microwave or coffee pot. There was no table or comfortable chairs in the room, just two computer desk chairs and not any kind of dresser. We stayed for 6 days so the problems added up. First off no house keeping during the weekend. When the housekeeper was on duty she has no linen or towels with her, you must call the office. We used the same sheets for the entire stay with no offer to change them. We called each day for clean towels. As for the Handicapped rating, not really. Since the room was fairly void of furniture there is plenty of room for a wheelchair to move about. However, to use the toilet from a wheelchair is almost impossible unless you have someone pick you up and put on toilet. There are no bars anywhere near the toilet, and the toilet is way too close to the wall with a toilet paper dispenser also in the way, but at least the toilet is chair height. The shower was beat up but wheelchair accessible. There is a built in bench and a wand shower head. Also no Kleenex for the room and the place for it was empty. They are working on the rooms to fix them up and make them nicer to stay in but the service will probably remain the same. Also there was such a big gap under the door just about any small insect or mouse could get in with no trouble. We will NOT use this place again.

I do a lot of traveling and this motel does a fabulous job. Rooms are neat and clean and hotel staff is very friendly. I found it by accident by missing a turn. Once you have a visitor pass you can take secondary road to back gate by cemetery to get to medical education dept. It's also very peaceful and has a "home- like" feel.
