Dana on mission bay
Excellent hotel ! Great service and accommodations and very reasonable in price !! This place is perfect for staycation as well as vacation to explore all the attractions in San Diego. Also on the premises we were also able to book a boat ride it was awesome !!!
Wonderful staff. More than accommodating.
We have stayed here several times and the staff is always friendly, helpful and accommodating. Brought a boat with me this time to do some fishing and Phil made sure to get me some boat parking close to my room. Rooms are so nice and always clean and you can’t beat the view of mission bay
Inconsistently awesome and horrifying depending on location and day.
UPDATE: I have now arrived home and am astonished that I wrote their guest relations about filthy sheets that had not been changed and I have not received an apology or even an acknowledgment. Very disappointed I had also called the front desk two times to get the sheets changed and no one could and I got questioned if I signed up for housekeeping-- FOR A ROOM that wasn't clean to begin with!! IF YOU STAY AT THIS HOTEL ALWAYS CHOOSE THE BAYSIDE SUITES. I'm not sure why but literally everything went right over there. OVER by the smaller pool/hottub, it felt like the ghetto and certainly treated like the ghetto... I mean to bring three alcoholic beverages instead of hot expensive tacos TO REPLACE COLD ONES -- WTH At the very least an apology would have been at least caring. NADA. Also, our last day we went to the main pool and ordered tacos at about 4 pm as I already mentioned how amazing they were. We were chatting and got out of the hottub and about an hour goes bye and no tacos. I tipped 7$on my 26$ dollar tacos. They said they would bring them to the pool.. multiple times to me, and each of my friends. Anyway, they left them just sitting there and never delivered. He actually wanted us to take the cold tacos. I asked that they be remade and he made a point to tel me they never said they'd deliver to the pool (this is a tent directly outside the pool$. In any event my friend got upset as she KNOWS .. as did I that they said they would deliver to the pool. In the end... they delivered cold tacos to our room about two hours after we ordered them. We had to microwave tacos that I personally paid like 32$ for WTH and was called a liar. HERE IS THE BEST PART. I am a recovering alcoholic- sober for 2 years., but instead of making new hot tacos they chose instead to deliver three strong alcoholic beverages to a room that I paid for (dirty sheets and all) as an alcoholic. WTH. So they chose to test my sobriety... while on vacation, instead of delivering fresh damn tacos... THEY ARE GOOD BUT NOT AS good microwaved! And certainly rubios would have been better as they would have remade the tacos Obviously it's not likely I will not be using this location for my sons wedding and I am sad as the first week I stayed at The Dana left me all excited to have found the spot for my guests from all over the country to see my son get married.. One side of the hotel is awesome but standard rooms apparently don't require or deserve? sheets changed... SMH I HAVE to say that I did lose my glasses and the lost and found manager is on top of it. He personally looked for them and called to say they couldn't find them. I sincerely appreciate his efforts and fully believe he will get them returned if found. I'm blind as a bat- nearly.. so I will be headed to the eye dr tomorrow but it was VERY nice that someone went out of their way to care---- what I find funny is that this was my fault and this guy went out of his way to help... but when I had to sleep in a bed with a myriad of hairs that were jet black (small ones, pubic ones, long ones, and makeup stains.. I RARELY wear makeup and certainly not on vacation or at least this one. And makeup on both beds... and when I grabbed a pillow the back side of it was disgusting... and yet-- no one cares... but I lost my glasses and the attention is outstanding. We had to microwave 100$ worth of tacos between the three of us (2 live there and staycation often) but HEY free alcohol for the ghetto ladies in the ghetto pool area. When I was in full panoramic view rooms (8 nights) I was treated significantly different or things just ran smoother... BIZARRE . I went to crystal pier for two nights and came back to the Dana and it was such a different experience. We are middle aged woman that wanted girl time in a hottub close to the room... thinking we'd be safer regarding covid. When the hotel doesn't care about clean sheets and tempting alcoholics with free drinks while serving EXPENSIVE tacos cold... I honestly have no more words for the differential treatment The pictures fully express why you shouldn’t make the mistake I did an put my clothes in the wash.. obviously I removed immediately.. every machine was disgusting. Would be a wonderful asset. Was not for me
Staff lied about price
Staff on the phone when reserving stated she could give me a better price than hotels.com because she would include the $25 parking in the price given. Upon check in I was stuck paying the additional $25 as that staff said it wasn't included & she couldn't honor what the 1st staff said. I got stuck paying more than if I had just used hotels.com
Bed bugs!Filthy sheets, phone, mirrors, broken shutters, terrible service at FireFly Eatery & Bar!
We have stayed at this hotel several times before and we are Relax & Enjoy Reward Members. The first night upon checking in I called the front desk and asked them to have housekeeping bring us bedding for the pull-out sofa, because the sheets on the pull-out were absolutely filthy! The first delivery from housekeeping they brought just a blanket. So I called again and requested sheets. I was brought another blanket and 6 pillow cases. So I called the front desk again and was brought 2 duvet covers and 8 more pillow cases. I never received sheets for the pull-out sofa. Because we were exhausted, we improvised and used the 2 duvet covers as a bottom and top sheets. The next morning I left a note with the front desk asking housekeeping and maintenance to tend to a few more items and to change the sheets on the sofa sleeper. When we returned to our room later that evening, the note I left with the front desk was left crumbled-up on our coffee table in our room with check marks by the items. However, the items requested of maintenance were not completed. Nor were fresh sheets ever put on the sofa sleeper. We also waited over an hour for breakfast Saturday morning that we ordered from the Fire-Fly Eatery & Bar and when our food was finally received it was cold and absolutely terrible. My husband spoke to the front desk regarding this and was told by the front desk personnel that the hotel did not have any authority over the restaurant because it was operated by a separate company, no acknowledgement of the issue or apology was given. Regardless, if it’s on the hotel property as part of an amenity then the hotel should be responsible for any issues that arise. Among all the housekeeping and maintenance issues, like a filthy phone, having only 1 washrag upon check-in for a room that sleeps 6, having only a 1/2 roll of toilet paper upon check-in, no body wash in the shower, the air-conditioning unit not functioning properly, the shutter blinds that were broken and loose which allowed for no privacy and people passing by our room to see into our room, etc., Sunday night we found bugs in the bedding of our 2 queen beds! My son, who has special needs, freaked out so badly that I had to call our respite nurse to drive down from Murrieta and pick him up from the hotel and take him home that night. We all would have checked out that night as well, but like I previously stated, I had business meetings to attend on Mon. & Tues. There were some other issues with other hotel guest being loud and fighting, not with us, but around us. However, hotel security was very responsive.
