Excellent
Me and my girlfriend enjoyed our stay here. Even though we just booked on the same day, we were able to catch a great deal for our stay. Complimentary breakfast, dinner and afternoon tea time. The best offer if you’ll ask me. Front desk and concierge staff were very accommodating to all of our requests and queries. The only concern we had on our room was the leaking bidet and the rusty railings on the balcony but other than that, everything was fantastic. We’ll definitely recommend it to our family and friends.

I visited the place with friends and family. I didn't have lot of expectations but what an experience it turned out to be. They gave us 3 connected rooms. It is an amazing place with awesome facilities like Golf, water sports. We were given access to the club house and I could enjoy tennis. The pools are beautiful. Property is well maintained. What stands out though is the hospitality. I have never experienced better hospitality all my life. The staff is well trained to take good care of you.. from Chef to restaurant staff to front desk staff. Their Room Division Manager Mr Benjie is an awesome person. Took great care of us.. hospitality and client centricity at its best. The GM of the property Mr Marvin is another great guy.. he definitely has trained his staff well. Overall, what a vacation. The hospitality experience really made it a memorable experience for us
Thunderbird Resort -- We did return and promise to definitely go back again!
Three years ago, when our family (my husband, our five kids and myself) had a wonderful vacation at Thunderbird Resort La Union, we vowed to return. We were able to fulfill that dream when we had another amazing and much-needed vacation at Thunderbird La Union a few days ago, from December 30, 2020 to January 2, 2021! Since we are in the time of pandemic and there is a vital need to be very careful, we decided to go to Thunderbird La Union, as we are already familiar with the excellent way that the Thunderbird personnel manage their resort. And Thunderbird Resort lived up to their high standards! We stayed in two Executive Suites (beside each other). Each of the suites has two queen-size beds, a living room area, and an enormous bathroom (with two sinks and separate shower stall and bathtub). The complementary bath amenities are generous and of good quality brands. Each suite amazingly had its own private dipping pool. Oh, and did I mention that the suites are beachfront, so that we had million-dollar views of the beach while we were swimming in our own private pool or relaxing with a good book poolside! We only had to open the sliding doors of our suites to hear the calming rhythm of the waves hitting the shore or to view the spectacular sunset in the late afternoons. We also went on relaxing walks around the resort, especially by the sea. These walks were a welcome change from feeling cooped up in our house during this pandemic time. Some of our kids also chose to swim at one of the three big resort pools. One afternoon, our sons played basketball at the resort’s basketball court (we came prepared and brought our own ball). For safety, we always brought our face masks and face shields while walking around, and would wear these anytime we were near other resort guest. But since Thunderbird Resort followed the government-mandated limit on the number of guests, we all had a lot of space to move around away from other guests. The food (just like during our previous stay) was excellent! For New Year’s Eve, we decided to have steak, which was tasty and tender and was grilled well. I especially liked their grilled prawns. Thunderbird also has excellent cakes and cookies, which we ordered from their Pianono Café for our afternoon snacks. We even brought some cookies home with us to continue enjoying this treat. We felt very safe (from the COVID virus) as all the Thunderbird personnel wore face masks and face shields at all times, especially when serving our food (which we chose to have delivered to our rooms). General Manager Marvin, F&B Head Juri, Rooms Manager Benjie, Front Desk Manager John and their staff truly went above and beyond in making sure that our family had a relaxing, stress-free and memorable vacation at Thunderbird Resort La Union. We will repeat the promise we made when we first went to Thunderbird Resort three years ago : We will definitely return!
MGCQ Vacation
The Allure of the beach and that fresh smelling ocean is what makes this place special. The view around is simply majestic and you could really appreciate God's creation. As to the amenities, I think there is more room for improvement.Nonetheless, the staff and employees are very cordial and efficient.Though, the price of the breakfast should be enough to be transformed into a buffet style and of course with IATF approval.Covid protocols and minimum health standards are properly observed. We will definitely come back.
Deceptive pricing
Beware of the entrance fee. It's deceptive. Thunderbird on their site, billboard and flyers advertise a price of 500 pesos for use of their property. Our group arrived and we paid for all of us. Then when we went to use the pool, they wanted to charge us an additional fee. What? No where is that pool fee listed. So when only half of group paid the extra pool fee, they then told us the other people in our group would not be allowed to be near the pool. Oh my gosh! What the heck. You separate families because only some of them were using the pool. Really frustrating. Be warned.
