Needs updating

Reviewed 24 june, 2018

I have been staying here for about 20 years due to family living nearby, the hotel is in a quiet residential area with easy access to taxis and away from the busy areas. It is clean and secure. In those 20 years I have not seen the carpet or furniture updated though and it is screaming for some attention. It would be much nicer to come into a room without old stains and iron burns.

Superb service

Some of the best staff I have ever come across, and I've been around the world several times. Helpful, efficient and polite. The room was very pleasant, breakfast was adequate. Price moderate for the excellent location.

Good value, old fashioned small hotel

Reviewed 7 october, 2015

I chose this because it was good value, and in the nice neighbourhood of San Isidro. In fact it is at the edge of that district, maybe 30 minutes walk and 10 by taxi to the main big San Isidro hotels, but nearer to the sea. My room was large, with a separate sitting area, so almost a suite. It's an old building, no elevator (though rooms are only on ground and two higher floors). The wifi did not reach the 1st floor room I was given, but they found me one on the 3rd where it worked well. Breakfast is fairly basic, e.g. no fruit.

A good city hotel in San Isidro

Reviewed 1 july, 2015

On my arrival to Lima I stayed in San Isidro Inn in a standard room for over a week while looking for an apartment. It is a nice hotel located in one of the best neighborhoods of Lima - safe and beautiful, 5 min walk from the park where you can enjoy a panoramic sea view, go jogging, ride a bicycle, etc. You cant fail to feel an air of peace and serenity around this place. (Ok, last night a couple of merry ladies made a bit of a noise after 2am, but hey, Copa América is on!!) There are a couple of restaurants nearby. I recommend Café A & Bistro - a fine little place to enjoy your lunch or dinner or read a paper on a Sunday over a long brunch. Its owner/chef Ashton really takes pride in his work (located near gas station and two other restaurants). San Isidro Inn is a 3 star colonial-style hotel. I must say they exceed this rating - I would easily give them four. Rooms are on a smaller side but not tiny, and for my taste all the things were just where I wanted them to be, even such a small thing as bedside lights were just of the right brightness. Bathroom: good shower, everything spotless clean, snow white quality towels - changed daily, same as bed linens. Bed and pillows were great too, I slept well. I read some reviews here regarding rooms being cold. Well, it is Peruvian winter right now, I find the weather to be very pleasant (El Niño!) and cannot confirm the rooms being cold at all. Bed is covered with a warm duvet and, in case Rajasthan plains in July is more your thing, then there is an extra duvet in the wardrobe - but I cant imagine ever needing it. Rooms have a tely, fridge (minibar includes beer, water, cola and juices) and a phone. They dont have iron/ironing board or a hairdryer. Ironing is actually not a big problem due to humidity. If you hang something on a hanger overnight it will be wearable by the morning, WiFi is free. Breakfast has adequate choice of items: eggs and sausages for hot breakfast, fruit yoghurt and cornflakes, quality fresh juice, toasts, ham, cheese, butter, jam, tea and coffee. In-room dining is also available but I haven't tried it. Hotel staff is courteous and friendly without being OTT. I was very happy with my stay and would easily recommend San Isidro Inn.

Good place but overpriced for what you get

Reviewed 27 august, 2013

Good place. Really comfortable bed. Very small room though. In a very fancy and safe neighborhood. Bathroom could've used updating, but once again-it was fine. A nice private safe place. Location adds a lot. (Kosher food available closely-near Chabad and Kosher mini-market). They were really nice and watched our belongings on our last day before we took our flight in the middle of the night out of Lima.
