Old and Tired
This is a beautiful. but old and tired hotel in terrible repair. It was dumped by Weston and sold to Hilton several years ago and has only gotten worse. On our current visit, we found the hotel closed due to the virus, but were never notified that our reservation had been cancelled. Nonetheless, the staff did give us a room for the night. However, upon entry to the room, neither the lights, TV, AC, hot water, or internet connection worked. After multiple contacts to the front desk, all but the AC were finally corrected. Now we find ourselves in a hot room with a constant loud blowing sound coming from the HVAC vent, but no air comes out and it can not be turned off. So we are going to spend the night in a hot room listening to the constant noise from a none functioning HVAC vent. This hotel needs a major capital improvement program by Hilton or it should simply be closed permanently.
Quite elegant Hotel
I really love to stay at Hilton San Luis, quite elegant, relaxing and calm Hotel. Near calm zone in San Luis Potosi. Up to my expectations. Nice people working in this place, an extraordinary customer experience. Congratulations!
Histroic looking hotel
The hotel has a old Mexican decor feeling which is a little outdated and needs updating. The hotel location is great and the staff is friendly. Overall the beds in the rooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are spacious and good. The hotel offers a nice breakfast which has a omelet bar, with fresh fruits, breads and other assortments. I hotel also has a nice bar area and offers a dinner buffet which I did not try during my stay. Overall the hotel is charming and relaxing but is need of some updating. The location is great and there are good restaurants located within the area.
Aging excellence falling behind the times
My wife and I stayed overnight in a Junior Suite with a non-working Jacuzzi. The hotel was born as a Quinta Real (luxury Mexican Hacienda-themed chain) - it’s setting and decor remain. Personnel is helpful and cheerful, although somewhat ineffective. Great bed, great room, nice bar and good food. Why not give stars? Well... when dealing with the non-working jacuzzi the staff first told us we would be transferred to the room X .... which did not have a jacuzzi; then they tried to transfer us to a room with jacuzzi .... which was a much worse room in layout, ved, etc! It was as if no one was thinking! We finally stayed in the original room then... as we were taking a bath ... knock in the door and... had to get out, put on a robe, and find out the hotel was sending us cold-cuts tray. Nice gesture but.... complete ignorance of the “do not disturb” sign!! Then... they cook with vegetable oil!!! As if they were completely unaware of their health risks ! On the positive side, when the breakfast buffet omelette cook was challenged .... she did immediately offer to cook with butter or olive oil. Finally, on the same Buffett .... very very few KETO options. No vegetables, no avocado, only cheese, meats, eggs, and a few vegetables with the egg. The most preposterous, really, is that the buffet does not include water! We asked for water and.... they tried to charge us for it!!!! They did reconsider but.... how can it be that fruit juices are included yet... water isn’t!!! Amazing! Net, charming setting with a whiff of “falling apart”, very friendly and nice staff that could use a bit of training. I would recommend it as long as you have some patience, and do not mind having to eat within carbohydrate and vegetable oil boundaries.
Roaches in bathroom
As the title said there were large dead roaches in the bathroom on two separate occasions. The breakfast staff is inattentive. The sink leaked. Also they offer no airport shuttle though cheaper neighboring hotels do.
