Uncomfortable mattress, ac didn't work, door wouldn't stay closed.

We stayed in a wheelchair accessible room with a roll-in shower. (Room 506) The mattress was so old, it was sagging in the middle. There was almost no padding left. The springs creaked every time you tossed and turned (because the bed was so uncomfortable). There was also no soap to wash your hands. The next morning we requested a room with a better mattress. They moved us to 509. It had a better mattress, but still not great. We were out and about all day. We came back and were getting ready for bed, when we realized that the ac didn't work. We called the front desk, and they gave us room 609. When we got to room 609, the door was ajar. We cautiously opened it, hoping not to be surprised by someone. No one was in the room. We checked the mattress, checked the ac, then dead-bolted the door and went to sleep. The next morning when we were going down for breakfast, the door wouldn't latch/lock. It only stayed shut if you deadbolt it from the inside. We closed it the best we cold, and went down for breakfast, hoping no one would go into our room. I will never stay at this hotel again.

In my opinion, the staff at a place can make or break your experience. In the case of this hotel, they definitely made the experience great!. I need to mention 2 in particular. First, Tyranee, she checked us in and is such a bright light in a world gone crazy. She was always pleasant and smiling and very, very helpful! Thanks Tyranee for being such a wonderful person! Next, and I didn't catch her name, is the lady that does the breakfast area. She was so helpful and made sure we had everything we needed and then some! Great job Holiday Inn Express on hiring a fantastic staff!

I tried to check in at 9pm and found out that my booked room with two beds is not available, so I ended up with a king bed and a sofa bed for three of us. Except that , everything else are pretty good, breakfast are very nice, hotel staffs are very friendly.
quiet and relaxing hotel in busy Atlanta

The room felt relaxing...from the white bed linens to the comfy couch. Room and bathroom were clean, and we really appreciated the provision of a free toothbrush and paste, which we had forgotten. The staff were great, but the dear lady overseeing the breakfast was a gem... very friendly and kept all we breakfast eaters well supplied with fresh food and drinks! She's Gold!!
Horrible customer service & crappy attitude

Reservations took quite a long time I needed a room that was a joining because I was traveling with family. After quite a long hold I was given two rooms which the agent guaranteed me would be a joining she said she had called the hotel to verify. When I got to the hotel to check in they looked at me like I had two heads and told me that was not possible. Upon signing paperwork at check-in I noticed one of the rooms was $20 more per night then I was quoted. The front desk people again looked at me like I was crazy and told me they could not alter the price. Their answer to me was then why Didn’t you book it on the phone? I answered that indeed I had spent over 20 minutes on the phone and booked and showed them My emailed confirmation w the price. I was then told they would honor it as a one time courtesy. I was told the additional amount would Fall off upon check out. The room was ok BUT the air conditioner was awful— loud like rattling cans. Check in was over 20 minutes so there was no way I was going to complain and get treated like crap for another 20. After a weary travel day i went to take a bath only to find no bath stopper. I called housekeeping only to get the Same staff member. I was told “I dunno where those are maam— cant u just stuff a rag in there?” Click Upon leaving for dinner i notes my key did not Work in our door. I requested a new one. The second did not work. I waited till morning to request a new one. After FOUR tries Of a key that did not work I gave up. I chalked this up to “ be grateful to the staff that showed up” trip. I normally love this chain— but I wouldnt stay at this one again EVER!
