The Patagonia Eco Domes is such a special place right at the base of Mt. Fitz Roy. You couldn't stay closer to the mountain unless you were really camping. The eco domes are pretty luxurious - so clean with tons of space for luggage. Beds are so comfortable and spacious. The bathroom and shower were amazing, too. We were there end of Feb with very warm weather and not much wind, but you have to light the fire in your room at least every 2 hours to avoid waking up to the cold, but it's totally manageable so worth it. Hearing the crazy wind at night was such an experience. And we loved disconnecting from the world and wifi! Highly recommend the deluxe double room and the triple room for those with a bigger family. And recommend waking up at sunrise to see the sun hitting El Chalten - such a special view. The location is perfect for the Laguna de Los Tres hike as it's right on the El Pilar trailhead, saving you at least 2 hours of extra hiking, which we were so thankful for! Food and drinks were superb - alcohol, beer, wine (everything you could want). The croissants at breakfast were incredible, tasted homemade. The packed lunches for our hike were amazing and ample - the empanadas were yummy. Dinner was different each night and really good. The staff goes above and beyond for you. Their English was perfect. We especially loved the younger female who worked at the front desk and checked us in (can't remember her name but it's her 2nd season at the hotel). She was so bubbly and helpful.
Best meal of the trip!

Stayed here for one night during our trekking vacation, amazing spot. Very clean and private. The 3 course dinner was by far the best meal of the trip! Staff were friendly and accommodating. Great location if you want to take one of the main hiking trails back into town and they will shuttle your bags for you.
Bucket List Trip and The Empty Bucket

The EcoDome was a trip I always wanted to take and it was everything I hoped it would be. We rented the superior dome with the big bed and fireplace. It was amazing. Beautiful and in sight of Torres from our bedroom. The staff was great and our guide was the best. He made a tour just right for our level of expertise and physical condition. And we got to experience Patagonia as we always wanted. The food was good and the people are fun and great to hang out with after big days trekking. But....... Cascada is the tour company that handles the trip. I'm told by the staff that they are owned by the same people as Ecodome. They are terrible. I had to pay 100% more than 30 days before the trip which I organized six months earlier. I asked many times for an itinerary after they confirmed they received the payment. I called, emailed and called and emailed again, and even asked for my itinerary as a present for Christmas but received nothing. I feared I was being taken advantage of by Cascada. I did finally receive the itinerary 31 hours before my departure. Yes 31 HOURS not days. Then I learned after flying all night I had a 10 hour public bus ride after traveling from MIami to Calafate. TEN HOURS in a bus into the dome. Then a six hour bus and a 26 hour layover in Calafate on my way back to Buenos Aires. Additionally the airline reference numbers were wrong, no seats selected, they booked me on the same tour two days in a row. The emergency number used for when things go wrong didn't work. I''m glad we had a fireplace as after the heat was out for 3 days in the dome. I asked for help each day and no action. I then complained in writing with details to the CEO of EcoDome and Cascada directly. They never replied. A sales manager or someone did reply and provided a free day on our trip. But Its hard to forgive them when on new years eve I was trying to decide if I was going on my adventure or going on a disaster trip. Parts were a disaster. And much worked out and we had a great trip. Cascada subcontracts all the tours and pick ups to other companies but I didn't learn this until I arrived. They were all great. I would work with them directly, but of course I don't even know the companies names because they were not on the itinerary when I finally got it. They just said an envelope would arrive at your next destination. So if you like a mystery trip when you don't know when or how you are getting to your next destination this is the trip for you. Every day my wife would ask when are we leaving and how and I would say I don't know. They also made us pay with PayPal. Why? So we couldn't be protected by our credit card and travel insurance? So go to the EcoDome. But do not use Cascada if you can.

We recently stayed at the domes for one night. An unforgettable experience. If you have to spend your last dime on a great experience, go ahead and do it at the Domes. This is a unique experience, from Waking up and looking at the Fitz Roy from you bed, or enjoying 0 light pollution at night for an amazing view of the stars, to the amazing food and service by everyone at the property. Thanks everyone for your help wile at the property. Hope to get back again.

My friend and I stayed at the eco domes for three nights and had an amazing experience. We are one vegetarian and one vegan and let them know in advance (though you don't need to if you're just vegetarian). They prepared vegan options for the three course dinners (including lovely soups, stews, ratatouille) and vegan packed lunches for hiking. The staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English. The hike to laguna de los tres from the domes is even better than the standard route because the first half is less crowded and included the piedras blancas viewpoint on the way!
