Overpriced, and unimpressed

The rooms were plan, and uncomfortable. The price was crazy high for what felt like motel 8 rooms. The one bright spot was the Manager, she was awesome. Someone should get her to a real hotel. If you enjoy overpriced uncomfortable hotels, then this is the spot for you.
Inconsistency in website description

It is an excellent hotel with great staff and in a great location. The website description of the suite was way off from reality. I had to sleep on the floor for a night as it was too late in the night and unrealistic in spite of the managers amazing effort to reassign a different suite for me and my family.
Time to find a new hotel for Santa Monica stays!

We have been staying at this hotel for the last 15 years whenever visiting Santa Monica so our expectations of the hotel and the different rooms we have stayed in was set until now. 1. Our standard room was on floor 2 below street level which allowed passers by to look in so we had to keep the blinds closed. After all this time we never even knew that these rooms existed. 2. On arrival, there was a ‘beet retreat’ conference going on with very loud music and attendees walking around the hotel with no masks on. 3. We were unable to use the outside patio area with the fire pits as there was a private event, again something else we come to this hotel for. 4. We arrived at the hotel bar at 22:30 to be told they had just closed, we therefore arrived at 22:10 on the next night(a Friday night) to be told that they had closed at 22:00 and that room service had finished too. After a long day of sightseeing I’d expect to be able to have a quick nightcap before bed. 5. On every previous stay, Valet used to be at you car before you could open the door, but this time we had to keep looking for someone to hand our keys too. This was not the luxurious stay that we have come to love and expect and we were very disappointed.
Great hotel experience except for safety

Had a wonderful stay and the staff were friendly and helpful. Everything was perfect until departure when I got squished in the revolving door at 5:30 AM! It is an automatic door and I got in and the back panel moved forward and the panel in front did not. BIg bruise on my shoulder and sore neck etc. I wrote to them about it (Client experience people) and heard nothing. I was trying to inform them so that the next person doesn't get their face smashed or something worse. "We are sorry that happened" would have been what I expected to hear back...instead it was crickets! Too bad since it left a bad taste in my mouth despite an otherwise LOVELY stay!

We recently stayed in an ocean front fire pit room and can't wait to go back. The hotel is beautiful and conveniently located on Santa Monica Beach. Short walk to the Santa Monica Pier and great restaurants (we loved Cora's Coffee Shop for a great breakfast and Meat on Ocean for dinner) with an excellent onsite restaurant, Blue Streak. The outdoor area is relaxing and set up with comfy seating and firepit tables facing the ocean. The service was what you'd expect from a small hotel, so personalized and helpful. Returning to our room in the evening to a plate of delicious macaroons and a handwritten thank you card was such a nice touch. Everybody we encountered was friendly and helpful. Extra thanks to the gentleman Concierge who somehow managed to find us transportation to Laguna Beach at 6pm on a Friday night after our previously planned transportation fell through. Highly recommend Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel!
