Nice but not awesome

I had the opportunity to visit this resort this last past weekend with my family. I would like to say that the road to get to the place is complicated due to the fact that is about 30 minutes from Monterrico´s public beach this includes about 4 kilometers of dirt road. Once we got to the hotel I could say that the area is nice and quiet. The personnel was nice and helpful. They have 3 pools which are nice and clean. We arrived at around 11AM and they had our room ready in 30 minutes. The room which was a suite was on the other side of the road which is very close to the reception. The Room was big and clean however the building appears to be under construction and a lot of noise during day due to that. One big turn down for us was the fact that there are no TV’s in the rooms and when we asked reception they said that they have a lot of activates to choose from however they never offered anything of those activities to us. The area where the suite was located had another pool which was not as clean as the ones near the reception in fact we were able to see some crabs inside it. It is also important to mention that the pools are filled with ocean water. We had lunch in the hotel restaurant and was nice. However keeping in mind that we were basically the only ones in the hotel they took a long time to serve 4 plates. The prices were not cheap and the food could have been better. To sum up is a nice hotel but we will not be staying here again and would not recommend for anybody with kids to visit them.
Best kept surf and wildlife secret in Guatemala!

This resort hotel is in the heart of a small fishing village and gives unparalleled access to a mangrove environment and an awesome family friendly beach with great waves for boogie boarding and surfing. The staff is committed to helping guests have a great experience. While you can tell that many of them are new to the hospitality space, their friendliness and warm smiles are authentic and the experience was positive and memorable. The food was excellent. It was busy while we were there and so I recommend ordering your food a bit in advance of when you’ll be wanting to eat. Do not skip the piña colada! It is a must and worth every quetzal :) Between the mangrove and the beach and the delicious food and the turtle hatchery program and the iguanas and the surf and the views and the breeze and the village tours, there is no shortage of cool things to experience. I highly recommend this hotel for the whole family!

Villas are perfect for groups. Great location right on the beach if you like to get out of the crowds. Property on beach and river. Turtle hatchery on site for an opportunity to release baby turtles. Staff very friendly and food was great. Nice pools. Simple clean rooms with air conditioning. This resort is still being developed.
Disgusting!! A place to avoid.

Our bungalow was dirty and unprepared when we arrive 1/2 hour after check in. They forgot to put bedding on some of the beds. One sheet was dirty. They didn't clean the floor. The screens on the windows were torn so we were inundated with bug inside the bungalow in the evening. In the morning, every surface and the whole floor was covered with dead bugs. The patio screen doors had no screens in them. The bathroom sink faucet ran with blue toilet water. When I told the owner that we shouldn't have to pay, he accused me of extortion. The pictures on the internet do not depict the state of disrepair (peeling paint, broken tiles in the pool). Overall, a very unpleasant stay.
