Avoid. Large room, with shabby decor and no window. Noisy, given close proximity to reception. Safe locked, TV box falling off wall. Staff completely disinterested in guests, bordering on rude. Not a boutique hotel. Good location.
GORGEOUS BOUTIQUE HOTEL

The room was gorgeous! We really appreciate that rooms can be dark to sleep in and if you close the shutters it is. The bed was super comfortable. The main issue would be parking, which they do'nt have but there are parking lots nearby. Well located for tourists that want to get to know the historic center of the city.
I was a victim of an extortion call at this hotel

Last week I was a victim of an extortion call at this hotel. It all started with a knock at my room door past 11pm. That knock waked me up, I asked who was there, there were no answer. I proceed to sleep again but the the room phone rang. I was not expecting a call, anyway I picked up and a voice said "sorry to bother your rest, I am the security manager for the hotel, I want to inform you that there is a police operative at the hotel with armed police personnel at the hotel premises. They found drugs and arms in a car at the hotel parking lot. Please don't leave your room for your safety". In awe and very scared I hung up. Two minutes later the phone room rang again, same voice saying, I am going to put you thru with the commanding officer for the operation. Change of voice at the phone, this guy identified himself and proceed to ask me a couple of questions, and then he said, we know there is another guest from your company staying there, as a matter of fact he is going to your room, hang up and let him in. I opened the door to my colleague who was staying there. He had this guy on his cell phone, they guy asked us if we were together, we replied yes, and then he proceeded: "look I am not the police, we are from a cartel and came to pick up someone who is doing things behind our back, if you are not those guys nothing will happened, but I need to be sure you are not the guys we are looking for". The called continued and the story didn't ended well, but I don't want to disclose what happened next. Needless to say no one was at the hotel, no police operation, no narcos or anything. The extortionist some how had access to call the rooms directly without passing through the hotel operator. Hotels should alert their guest of the risk of receiving calls directly from the oitside. To this day is still a mistery who knocked on my door. Refrain from staying here.

I wanted to like this hotel. But didn't.. The good: Nice finishes, comfy bed including memory foam pillows. Good location. Beautiful property overall. Roomy, though we had the master suite so we expected it to be. The bad: No or super weak Wi-Fi signal. Couldn't even send an email. No bellhop. We only had 1 bag, but still, any hotel that calls itself 'boutique' should have one if there's no elevator. They advertise free parking, but their lot is 4 blocks away with no valet. Nor is there even a place to stop in front of the hotel to drop off luggage and/or check in. It was warm in Queretaro, so A/C was a must. It functioned, but too small to cool the room sufficiently. The worst was some weird buzzing noise coming from somewhere about every 3 minutes. It lasted about 5 seconds each time. It was for sure loud enough to interrupt sleep even with earplugs. This may have been specific to our room, 210. Front desk blamed the A/C but it still did it with it turned off. Too many other, better, properties in the immediate area to warrant a 2nd visit. I imagine a different room without the buzzer might offer a better sleep, so I won't downgrade for that.
So gorgeous but so many problems!

First the positive: 1) Gorgeous room. Probably one of the nicest and most comfortable rooms I have ever stayed in. Beautifully decorated, large bathroom, comfortable bed. 2) Location! I believe the location of this hotel is the best in town. Close to everything but in a quieter area. 3) Very nice staff although only 1 or 2 spoke English. I totally understand this (I should learn Spanish) but it made it difficult when I had concerns (see below). Negative: 1) There is no breakfast included even though the listing said there was. The first two mornings there wasn't even coffee. The third morning there was coffee/cookies. The fourth morning there wasn't any coffee. I asked about it and they looked at the cold urn and motioned to the microwave, that they could heat up some old coffee for me. I said no. Later they came to my room to say coffee and cookies were out. The fifth morning I was leaving early so knew I wouldn't get any coffe, however, I was pleasantly surprised when a coffee machine showed up in my room the night before, so that I could make coffee in the morning. That was awesome since I had to leave at 7:00 for my bus. 2) I had no hot water most of my stay. They would fix it (by then I was already dressed so too late for shower) and then it would be broken again hours later. This went on for the entire 5 nights. They acted surprised every time and would come into my room to see if the hot water would work for them. It actually was so funny because it was like they didn't trust me and yet I am sure the hot water tank was broken. It needs to be replaced. 3) Noise: The 1st night there was loud music playing the in reception until very late. 2nd night two people working at reception were talking so loud from 10 p.m. – 1 a.m. waking me up from sleep. I complained after the 2nd night yet it happened again the next night. I had A/C and sound app on my phone but could still hear them. I complained again. Finally, it was quiet for the last 2 nights. Summary: gorgeous hotel, shame about these issues as they have such potential but I would not recommend this hotel. I should really rate it at 2 but the beauty of the hotel and the location made me be a little generous.
