More about the hotel
Great Hotel near tons of restaurants
My wife and I stayed here while in Santiago for our 10 anniversary. Hotel was very nice and is ideally located within walking distance of a number of nice restaurants. The hotel had nice breakfast and we had a great meal at the restaurant one night. Would recommend while in Santiago.
Well worth its 5* rating for the staff alone
The staff are well trained, friendly and by far the hotel's biggest asset. The rooms are a good size and beds exceptionally comfortable and the bathroom is also a good size. The minibar, albeit only soft drinks, is free which is rare, the wifi was reliable. The pool and sitting area on the roof is very good, the lifts are quick and reliable. The downstairs restaurant is excellent as is the breakfast. Would willingly stay at the Solace again. The views are not great but that is nothing to do with how the hotel is run.
Food can be improved
Clean and spacious rooms with all you need. Hotel staff were very helpful and attentive even when air con broke down. Pool and area it’s very small compared to pics. Rooftop bar needs more options on drinks menu. Overall good hotel to stay but needs to work on food. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner options are very limited which is a shame for guests on business trip who would like to have meals
Hotel solace
This hotel is amazing, it’s clean smells good the concierge is very very helpful. I am so glad I chose this hotel and the location is the best very close to everything good restaurants. Hotel has two full bar , one on lobby another one on the rooftop with the pool. Everyone in the hotel starting from cleaners from doormen and food servers they are all nice and kind. I loved my stay and I will recommend to everyone.
Modern, comfortable and well placed hotel.
We stayed over Christmas 2019 for three nights leaving on boxing day. We had a suite and paid £308. The hotel is in a pleasant part of town and close to the subway. Although Uber works well in Santiago. We arrived very tired as we'd flown overnight from London and check-in was prompt and friendly which we were grateful for. English was spoken. Some people have mentioned the heavy fragrancing of the lobby, it didn't bother me but it was certainly noticeable. It reminded my wife of Lynx bodyspray which I thought a bit unkind. The lobby has a coffee machine, small library and a couple of Macs for guests to use, also very large and comfortable sofas. We chose the Solace because we wanted a hotel that would be a comfortable bolt hole in case the protests started up or if the city was going to be closed for Christmas - this was our first time in South America and first time staying in a hotel for Christmas. We also liked the minimalist and modern design. The Hotel didn't disappoint. The restaurant, rooftop bar and room service were all excellent. Breakfast was good too, an extensive buffet or food cooked to order. It took some time to arrive but as we got used to Chilean service, looking back it was just not what we're used to. The pool and bar on the roof give great views of the city. The pool is quite small and got understandably busy in the afternoon. The water was bracing though! The room was lovely, very bright and airy with good views. Very nice toiletries, a huge bathroom, all spotless. Plenty of universal plug sockets, storage, a safe, etc, etc. All the things you'd expect from a good hotel. Mini bar was a bit short on booze selection but the bar downstairs would bring drinks and ice on request. Would recommend this hotel if you don't want to stay in a big chain but still want all the comfort and services of one.
