As you approach this gorgeous hotel you are struck by the view and landscaping. Draw dropping views to say the least because this hotel is set on a hillside. The architecture, decor and surroundings are stunning. I would love to give this exquisite hotel, a five star rating, but certain elements were missing and problems were not fixed. We received a room upgrade, which should have been terrific however, it was below the dining room and kitchen. It is room 404, so never take that room if you’re looking for a good nights sleep. Also, the shower and bathroom sink were inside the bedroom. This seems strange for a five-star resort. Not great having to wash one’s hands and take a shower in the same room you’re sleeping. The room was, however, spotlessly cleaned every day. It would’ve been nice to have fluffy bath robes, which were also not part of our stay, although they supplied slippers. As far as the restaurant goes, the setting, as I’ve indicated before, was absolutely stunning, and the service was perfect The food was mediocre at best . At a five-star hotel, I shouldn’t be charged extra when I order cappuccino for breakfast rather than plain filter coffee. Three of the staff really went out of their way to for us: Dora, Thanus and Dimitri, were professional, and willing to help. Unfortunately, our biggest issues was not addressed, nor will we given any type of consideration on our bill for our problem. Two nights out of our five nights stay we had zero sleep. There was some type of noise occurring all night long above our room that was never able to be quieted whatsoever. Staying at a resort that is rated five stars and losing two full nights sleep, was not what we expected. When we spoke about it to the front desk on checkout and asked that we be given some type of consideration for our loss of sleep, perhaps crediting our bar bill, which was less than $100, we were told that was impossible. The only thing they were willing to do to make us feel better about the lost nights sleep was give us a ride to the ferry. We had our own car, but this would have been nowhere near compensation for two full nights of loss sleep.

Calm retreat

We had a few nice days in this retreat. The views are amazing and so is the pool area. Breakfast portions are small and sometimes too limited. Fresh fruit salad was 2 types of melon, no other fruits, which is a bit limited for a fruit salad. Coffee & tea are free, but a cappuccino is paying. We had dinner here once and noticed a bottle of wine of €80 where we had been to winery and saw that same bottle for just over €20. That mark-up is a bit excessive. Rooms are clean but a bit small if you have to store 2 large suitcases in there. Staff was very friendly both at reception and in the dining area. We rented a rental car for our stay through the resort and that was very smooth. I would recommend that the hotel makes arrangements with the taxis they order. We drove from the port to the hotel with a taxi in the port and paid €20. When we asked the hotel to book us a taxi back a few days later, the taxi company asked us €35 for the same trip.

Stunning 5 Star Resort

We are lucky and stay at 7 or 8 Five Star resorts a year around the world, this is one of the of the most stunning resorts we have stayed at, the pool area was so nice with a peaceful chilled vibe and stunning views, especially the sunset! The suites are spacious, clean, well facilitated with comfortable beds. Loved the boho decor and the quirky bathrobes. The breakfasts were delicious with loads of choice (nice to have a high quality a la carte menu with plenty of food instead of a buffet, quality over quantity!). The wifi was good and we also loved the fact we could get bottles of drinking water whenever we wanted. The staff are amazing but times it felt like you could do with more staff. The gym is small but perfectly formed, all in all an excellent stay, thank you so much for looking after us. Wish we could give you 4.5 rather than 4 but TripAdvisor doesn't allow it. Nowhere is perfect so a couple of suggested improvements. The food menu is quite limited, especially for Vegetarians and Vegans. Thank you for offering to make vegan dishes but a menu would have been better as we would like to choose rather than think and suggest to you everyday what we might want. It's especially challenging as there is no other restaurants in walking distance of your hotel and a 70 Euro round trip for a 10 minute ride to the main town is too expensive every day for dinner and lunch. Also, charging extra for Cappuccino/Latte etc at breakfast is very rare for a 5 star hotel, both should be an easy fix.

NOT a 5-star Experience!

Let us start by saying that this hotel is in a beautiful location, and that on the whole, the extremely inexperienced staff were pleasant. Apart from that, we have very little positive to report. The ‘Supreme Suite’ is a single room with the bed, wash hand basin and shower in the same space. So absolutely no privacy. We enquired if we could change rooms as we were not particularly happy with this arrangement, and were told that all the rooms were designed that way. There were no bath robes or tissues in the room, and although there was a Nespresso machine with four capsules (half way through the week they ran our of regular capsules, and could only offer decaffeinated), there was no complementary water offered, and we had to buy our own to put into the machine. At the end of our stay we discovered that the capsules themselves were also charged as extra! The room acoustics were very poor. On our first night, there was an incessant loud tapping on our room ceiling from the restaurant terrace above. We drew receptions attention to this, and were told it was due to the wind. Nothing was done about it. We asked if we could move rooms and were informed that they were fully booked. It took three separate trips to reception before anyone actually tried to do anything about the noise, although it eventually became apparent that they knew what the source was, as this was not the first time it had happened. We asked to speak to the manager, and were told that he was unavailable. The next morning no one enquired whether we had eventually slept well and were happy with the resolution. We did not get to see the manager once throughout our entire week. Breakfast service was chaotic. Orders always arrived in a haphazard way. Sometimes we got what we ordered and sometimes we didn’t. The order in which things arrived was random unless you were absolutely specific. We actually had to ASK for plates on which to put our food. On the menu, a glass of ‘sparkling wine’ was offered as standard, but if we wanted water, we had to pay extra!! Upon leaving, we were presented with a bill for the full amount of our stay, despite having already paid a 50% deposit. The girl on the desk had no clue what to do and presented us with a revised figure, which we duly paid, only to receive a subsequent email to say that this figure was incorrect, and that we owed a further amount. None of the staff seemed happy in their work. They seemed nervous of taking any initiative, and so were not able to create a welcoming, friendly vibe. This all boils down to very poor management, no adequate staff training, no sense that the guests wellbeing is paramount. Despite it’s billing, this was most definitely NOT a ‘5-star Luxury Hotel Experience!’ Having stayed in many hotels on the Greek Islands, this has been, without doubt, our most disappointing experience.

Petit coin de Paradis. Tout était parfait. On y à passe un très beau séjour. La piscine est top et ouverte jusqu'a 00h00, parfait pour regarder le coucher du soleil. Le petit déjeuner inclus était très satisfaisant. Le personnel très aimable. Beaucoup de petits recoins très instagrammable.
