More Complaints than Not
First we checked in the day before when alerted by the AP or website and selected room 109. A room key was never assigned via email or otherwise but checkin confirmed? Drove to site and could not check in an hour early where we were told room 109 was unavailable and given room 112. This concerned me about my security with digital keys as this happened in Boston. I called corporate customer service and was hung up on twice before I got someone in reservations whom said he documented my concerns and could do nothing about my security concerns. The agent passed me on to his supervisor whom he said could help which promptly hung on me a third time. Customer Service was not! The hallway door on the south side was crippled by a projecting screw that also threatened security. The first morning our breakfast was made to order perfectly by an attentive staff for our gold membership. The second morning we were told no breakfast but a frozen microwaveable sandwich was available as they had found that morning no staff was coming to serve. The desk staff noted my displeasure and offered me bonus points for my breakfasts. This blew our morning going out breakfast. Overall the room was a B with housekeeping an A as I had to go get towels and coffee pods due to Covid? There was little airport sound and the parking was good. I have stayed at many Hilton properties I the last dozen years and this stay was almost the least satisfying.
Clean and Friendly
My wife and I stayed for a couple of nights. Comfortable bed, clean and fairly quiet. The staff were friendly and courteous through our stay. Clean pool and not to far from everything, in all a very pleasant stay which is why I will stay again if in the area.
Disappointing Hilton Stay
I only stay at a Hilton branded property because I usually know what to expect - excellence. Usually I'm not disappointed. I began my 3-city Florida business trip staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Sarasota-Bradenton Airport on July 30. While the property does show some wear and tear it wasn't bad. However, the men's restroom near the lobby had empty soap dispensers on Thursday, 08/30. I pointed this out to the front desk clerk (who seemed to spend a lot of her time on her phone). The next day after meeting with my client the restrooms still had no soap. Again, I pointed it out to the same clerk. Yesterday prior to checking out, I checked and the restroom STILL had no soap in the dispenser. The wall sanitizer near the elevators was also empty. The maids cleaning the rooms on my floor wore no masks. The man vacuuming the lobby and elevators wore no mask. But lots of signs were posted that GUESTS were REQUIRED to wear them at ALL times. The remote control in the room also would not work. The desk clerk had to come to the room with a new one and she couldn't get it to work either until she did something to a connection on the back of the TV. I contacted HGI via Twitter (DM) and received an apology from someone in customer relations. I was assured someone from the property would be in touch. That has yet to happen (over 30 days since my July 30 stay). Bottom line: if your care about your health & safety avoid this property.
Motel 6 quality, Hampton Inn brand
This is a motel 6 disguised as a Hampton Inn. The plumbing fixtures were IKEA quality, the toilet could wake up the next door neighbors when it filled, and the ac sounded like it could take off like a rocket. It had “cleaned and disinfected” stickers everywhere, but the fact that they skimped on everything from towels, to not having a folding suitcase holder, made me suspicious of their actual cleaning of the room. The towels, and shower had curly dark hairs hanging out and the grab bar in the bathroom is outlined by mold. The sink is ADA height but the toilet is short. I feel like someone who does not have quality in mind (which I have always received and expected from a Hilton hotel) put this hotel together. I have lost my faith in Hampton Inn.
Very GOOD stay.
This property is close to the airport & yes, is in need of some updating. However, i found the staff to be very helpful & courteous. The “lockdown” was just lifted as we arrived, however they were not set up yet for full service. Missed it by one day :( The room was clean, plenty of plugins for the tech. WiFi worked well. Everything in the room worked as advertised. Bed was comfy. They assisted as best they could for the conditions that they had. Pantry was well stocked & was even greeted as the level of membership, which is rare these days. Thanks guys for a good stay. I will return.
